Ok - we normally stay at the sofitel but with the transit still being closed we have made the decision to stay at the Hilton and I will use Clubcard deals to pay for part of it.

At the Sofitel we normally get a double room & have a cot - done this twice no problems. However the Hilton are telling me I need to book a Triple room or family room - can't even have a compact family room as there are no cots allowed in these.

So my question is has anyone stayed in a double or even a compact family room and had a cot?

I've never dealt with the issue of a cot at the Hilton Gatwick - however the double room is totally big enough to have a cot in it. For some reason the Gatwick Hilton like to, in my experience, cause barriers. I would phone their customer service line and query with them. While I am a Hilton Honours member I refuse to stay at the Gatwick Hilton because of the issues I've had in the past. I tend to stick with the Premier Inn at Gatwick now for any pre flight overnight stays - great service, price and accomodation.

I'm sure though others have had good experiences though. =)

We have stayed in a double room and had a pack and play - I think tho it could have been a cot. We recently had a compact family room as the 4 year old and the nearly 2 year old slept in the bunk beds. I think it was approx £20 more eg £5 in Tesco vouchers for the big family room

We had the same question as we will be staying at the Hilton in Sept. So i phoned the Gatwick Hilton directly and asked what our options were and they said the standard double would be fine!
