We will be visiting WDW in Sept. with my almost 3 yo DS. We were looking to spend 1/2 day at a non-WDW attraction. Is this something that a 3 yr old will enjoy? Any reviews or suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks!!:sunny:

Gatorland's alot of fun. My 7 and 8 yr-olds really liked it when we went last December. It seemed well run and was clean, and the animals appeared well cared for. There was actually alot to see and other animals besides Gators (birds, lizards, and Giant tortoises , as well as a playground, a small train ride (costs a little extra) and various shows. I think it would depend on whether your 3 year old would be scared by Gators. They can be frightening to little kids when leaping up to grab their dinner (dead chickens) as they do in one show. Most things would probably be fine for a 3 year-old, though.

I was pleasantly surprised by Gatorland. I remember when it was a tiny little 'roadside attraction' and I hadn't given it a second thought in years. I went last year and thought 'This place is well worth seeing!"

It would make for a nice day out of the parks while still giving you a day of fun. I'm not sure how much a 3 year old will get out of it, but YOU will find it interesting. The Swamp Walk, Alligator Breeding Marsh Walkway, and some of the quieter areas are the perfect way to 'de-stress' from an overdose of Theme Parks. There are lots of great kid-areas, so it makes for a nice family day, slower paced with a refreshing focus on the natural.

We went to Gatorland two years ago as we landed in Orlando at 11am and we had an afternoon to do something different before checking in to POR. We had a great time. The shows are good so check the sched and enjoy. Nice 4-5 hour park to see.

We have annual passes to Gatorland. It's a fun way to spend some time away from the much bigger parks. They do have a snack/food area and we had lunch there, the chicken fingers were a big hit with my family. We like the new little train that takes you slowly back thru the park ($1 extra) and we enjoy the shows. There are a few other animals to look at in the park besides the gators. They also have a huge gift shop and they have some pretty good deals on their sale items.

There are 2 buy one get one free admission coupons in the Orlando 2004 Entertainment books for Gatorland. With the books being on sale for $10 at www.entertainment.com that coupon alone pays for the book!:Pinkbounc My Nephew is looking forward to seeing the Gators. I hope he can take a photo with a real gator.
