Gastric Bypass

I had Gastric Bypass done in August. Because of that, my portions are drastically cut and I cannot have a lot of sugar. Has anyone been to Disney who had Gastric Bypass? Did you inform the restaurants before you arrive? We still have 170+ days until our trip, but just seeing what I need to do.

There is nothing the restaurants need to know- you can order what you want and not eat what you can't eat after gastric bypass. Either tell them to leave it off the plate or let it lay there yourself.

I had gastric bypass 4 1/2 years ago. I have no problem at Disney at all. Protein is available in all the table service restaurants and that's mostly what I eat. I avoid the quick service places.

You may feel that you're paying too much money for food that you won't be able to finish, but consider it a cost of your vacation. You won't really save money other than for appetizers and desserts that you won't eat any longer if you used to have them.

I have been to Disney twice since I had my Lap Band. The first time we were on the DDP and the second OOP. When I did OOP, I was allowed to pay as a child at the buffets.

I will be going back in May with my daughter that has a gastic sleeve. I will come back with all the updates and let you know if what they told us to do works or not.

I had talked to the Dinning Res and so did my TA. They told us we had to make reservation for how many people needed seats. Than told me to talk to the resort we are staying at. They said we would only be charged for who eats. They said the DD could just "visit" and take photos. We have one under 3 so no plan for them and one that won't be eating if we do a buffet. So, time will tell if we have been given good info or not.
