Gasparilla Race Weekend

I will be traveling down to Orlando for business the first week of March and have decided to come out early and run the Gasparilla Half-Marathon on Feb. 28th. My question for those that have run this race before is, what are the post-race festivities like? Is it worth while to stick around or should I pack it up and head back to Orlando, specifically EPCOT once I get my bearings back after the race?

This will be the last time they have the full marathon. It is being replaced by a 10k next year.

I will be there.........but as the baby sitter!!!!!

My Dh and best friend are running the full as it is the last one.

The weather was really nasty last year so there wasn't lots of activity at the finish of the full...but they have a fun finish area (pirates! arg!) and then you walk over the bridge which is lined with food tents and give-aways. They had lots of booths and music at the Convention Center (including black beans & rice and a great salad for the Columbia Restaurant) but we didn't go over because of the weather.

They had the same sort of stuff after the Saturday races I think but we went right back to the hotel.

I am Contemplating the full but not sure if it is too close after my first goofy, but since it's the last year, I could be persuaded! Sorry I don't know about the post race stuff because I never made it past the expo due to sickness last year but I do know that the expo was huge and awesome!
