We are driving from IL to MO and then to FL in May. All in all we will be traveling a good 3000 miles or more round trip. Does anyone have any idea what the gas price trends will be in a few months?

For those who have driven what do you typically pay for gas for the entire trip?

Thanks! :moped:

Never have driven to the east coast, but would expect fuel prices to continue to increase overall. In August, 2003, we were paying over $3 per gallon for standard unleaded gas; it's presently right around $2 (metropolitan Phoenix, AZ). It was up to $2.30 per gallon a few weeks ago, dropped down to about $1.85 per gallon and is increasing again. Very inconsistent patterns!

Rumor is gas is going up this summer.

Gas prices in the area make no sense. All of these prices were Friday.

I live about two miles North of Universal Studios. Two gas stations on my corner were just at $1.85. Just before Universal they were at $1.92. A couple of miles North of me they were at $1.84.

I refueled at one of the Hess stations on WDW at $1.82.

Just off property in Lake Buena Vista (near Hotel Plaza Blvd) they were charging $2.09 but just off property in Kissimmee at the Racetrac and Mobil stations on 192 East of Main Gate it was $1.81.

Go figure.

Anyway, if you are passing through Georgia you are best off filling up just before you get to Florida, there tends to be quite a difference there.

Were also driving from Illinois to florida. And please nobody blame me for gas prices but I manange a BP AMOCO and according to them here in illinois as long as nothing changes drastically like some idiot blows up a oil refinery ect gas prices here should be between 1.81 and 1.90. but my boss also said don't hold him to that because how fast things change. Every friday on payday I have been buying a $25.00 gift card to use for gas at any BP are amoco station. So for I have about $300.00 worth I'm going to get another $100.00 worth before we leave that way atleast I hope all are atleast most of the gas is covered. Someone on here had listed a website that tells you how much gas should cost when you enter your vehicle type and the distance. But I'm sorry I don't remember what the site was. But according to them it was going to run us about $260.00. When we went 2 years ago it was about the same then too.

I thought about buying gift cards but not sure what stations are there. (everytime I go, I tell myself to look but when I see Mickey my brain forgets that i am suppose to pay attention to such things.) :confused3 Somebody that lives around Disney, could you let us know what gas stations there are that are in other states. I am coming from Ohio so want cards that would be good for most states in between too. Thanks.

I would hate to buy cards and then not have stations to use them at!

oops sorry wasn't done. You have to page down to cash cards and they list a map.

Just got gas last night on Disney property at one of the Hess stations. It was $1.82.

Hey, thanks for the link. It says it is temporarily not working at the moment, but I saved it for later! That'll help tremendously! :moped:

Last summer and again over Christmas, the onsite gas stations were 28 cents CHEAPER than the stations surrounding Disney prioperty. Definately wait and get gas on Disney property from one of the Hess stations.

I'd love to fly, but it would cost 4 times as much as the gas for all 4 of us...then we would have to rent a car when we get there. Also we are picking my sister up on the way, making it 5 of us. Not to mention we are stopping off at 2 friends' homes on the way there and back. I'm hoping for another trip in the near future with just my hubby and me...then we'll fly! :love2:

I've driven from Dayton Ohio to Orlando several times and usually end buying 100 gallons of gas round trip (about 2100 miles). One thing to note is if you are coming through Tennesee and into Georgia, wait to fill up into you are in Georgia. I've seen gas prices 10-15 cents cheaper by waiting until crossing the state line.

Gas pricesin Ok are about $1.69 in Okahoma City to 1.76 in Lawton OK

A neat place to find as prices is
www.gasbuddy.com

It also has some info about oil prices in the last year.

If I remember right, milage from Rockford IL to Disney was 1,300miles ( give or take ).

When you get into the Orlando area, don't buy gas anywhere but at HESS on Disney Property. All of the Citgo & Mobil stations that dot the edges of property were consistantly around the $2/gal range. Generally the Hess stations were consistantly about $0.20 - $0.30 cheaper while I was there from June to Jan.

1.82$ a gallon?? Great price :cool1: You know how much the gas is at Germany?

If you are lucky at the moment it is around 5.20$!!!!!

Which I could live at the USA :moped:
