Gas Prices

Yep :sad2: It seems like it was just $3 and jumped to $3.30 in a very sort amount of time.

Definitely, we were down to $3.19 less than a month ago and now it is up to $3.49.

I got gas the other day and it was $3.80/gl. I seem to remember it being $3.50 not too long ago.

Looks like mine is still "cheap" compared to some posts at $3.29 but on Monday I bought for $2.99. What a jump!

You should all count yourselves lucky :P

It's the equivalent $7 a US gallon where I live!

Hard for me to compare because I fill in 2 different areas. I run to town after work where there are a ton of competing stations to fill my car at $3.89 for premium, then grab the wife's car at home and head off to the interstate exit with a single gas station and no competition and see that premium is $3.69

Always will be those across the pond to bark up about our cheap gas when they are paying £2,000 for a used car that would cost $12,000 over here....

A $.30 jump in Tennessee in the last week also. $3.04 to $3.34.

I live outside Indianapolis. We apparently have to raise prices to gouge all the people who drove in for Super Bowl stuff :)

We went from $3.48 to $3.71 in a week's time. Can't figure out why. Isn't the price of a barrel of oil down below $100 (around $90)?

i think within the last year prices have been jumping around more than I've ever seen them

No, oil is hovering around $97 and the last couple of weeks, it has been over $100 and as high as $102. cnnmoney.com is your friend. It will slowly come back down as long as oil prices do.

We were at $3.19 about 3 weeks ago and now were at $3.59 as of this morning. It's been going up a few cents every day. Lots of people are claiming in it will be $5 a gallon by summer. I'm not sure that I believe that but I know we are rethinking buying a Suburban at the moment simply because of the gas.

Oil prices are going to remain high for the forseeable future unfortunately.

Israel is predicted to bomb Iran some say by the summer time, in order to prevent Iran from developing their nuclear energy plant. Israel has sent out communications to many European synagoues (sp) and diplomatic personal warning them to increase their security.

Israel simply will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapon capability. regardless to what the rest of the world will think.

So my thought is that, either Iran agrees to UN inspections to prove it is not weapon grade material that they are developing (highly unlikely) or Israel will attack them (most likely).

Iran has already said that if Israel attacks them, they will consider it a direct act of aggression from the U.S.

speculators are having a freaky meltdown which is going to drive the prices up.

People, a big part of this is due to Mr. O shutting down the Keystone pipeline. Noticed I said big part and not all, those of you who have different political opinions.

I don't blame them. You can only push a country so far before you the push back,

Yeah but cars sold across the pond get a lot better gas mileage than here in the States. Also we add ethanol to the gas that burns up faster giving even worse mileage per gallon.

Yeah and if it wasn't shut down we could be crying for water and the cost of that when the pipeline pollutes the aquafor that supplies water from North Dakota all the way down to Texas. I think I would opt to pay a bit more for gas now than worry about the survival of people to livestock to the food we grow in America in the future. That's my personal opinion anyway. Gas prices have a lot to do with a lot of different issues other than one pipeline shut down.

Oil prices have dropped nearly over 5% in the last couple of weeks but the price of RBOB (gasoline) has been climbing or staying steady.

Actually, last I checked, RBOB was in the low $2.80s and retail gas is usually 50-60 cents more than that but we're about 70-80 cents above that in central FL.
