Gas prices

I was shocked to see gas was almost 3.00 today

Shell was at 3.09 this week. I buy from Sam's, which was at 2.79.

Yes. The oil speculators are at it again. I'm expecting to see $4.00 again this year if they don't do something about these speculators soon. I agree with the philosophy that says you shouldn't be allowed to buy a commodity unless you're able to take immediate delivery on it.

I've noticed a huge spike in the last 2 weeks. Amazingly, the media has been very quiet about it.

Where's the outrage? Where's the gnashing of teeth that went on the others times? I get it--we are all just numb.

The gas stations in my town have been at $3.19 and up for the past month now.

It is $3.41 here this morning for regular unleaded!! It goes up almost every other day lately.

Almost $3.00??? We are at $3.19 and climbing. In the city it is even worse. The speculators make me crazy, there is no reason for the barrel price to be climbing except greed.

It is $2.97 here, but I had to get DH from work last night & it is only 7 miles over the river to ST. Louis, so we paid $2.78 there!

It's been over $3 here for a long time, at least since summer started. I filled up Monday at $3.09 a gallon, I anticipate it being closer to $3.30 a gallon when I fill up again.

Oh, there is a reason for it, it's not a mystery and it's not the speculators... I don't know how people who can't absorb the changes are going to make ends meet

$3.27 this morning on Long Island and that is for unleaded regular!I can't remember when it was under $3.

I saw one station at $2.99. I filled up at a station that was $2.84. A few weeks ago, it was $2.49

4.90 USD/gallon as of yesterday here. The Esso near my house was 4.93 USD/gallon. (premium gas, regular is about 10 cents a gallon cheaper, diesel is about 10-15 cents cheaper than regular)

Could be worse... what can you do? Not buy it?

ABC World News, CNN, Fox and CNBC has done quite a bit of reporting on it.
I can't speak for your local stations, or local paper, but USA Today and the NY Times have also done several stories.
