How do you get around? Is there public transit or anything? I have to commute somewhere between 210-240 mi (338-386 km) once to twice a week. I'd run out of money really fast if gas cost that much all the time!
Over in the UK/Scott area, they counteract it with their outrageously cheap cars. If I could get a good low mileage (60-80k miles) car for $1000, I'd gladly pay those prices in gas. You can't touch a good car with under 200,000 miles and a pile of rust for $3000 where I am.
We've been paying between $2.85-2.90 for probably about a year here.
I'm a bit north of L.A. and it's the same here. I'm lucky if I find anything cheaper than about $3.10

That's just what I'm used to paying, actually it will likely go higher during the summer. My tank of gas does last for almost 2 weeks so it's not too bad. I will not use public transit, it scares me lol.
It's $2.69 here and for the love of Disney why in the world doesn't just BP's gas prices go up? why does it have to be all , It's not like the rest of the oil companies are having to pay for the clean up. I'm tired of getting bills I'm not creating in the name of "taxes". I wonder what I can come up with to bill the federal, state and local treasurers and see how much I can get . Well, that thought was short lived guess I better get off and get back into the real world
I just spent $2.79/gal this morning. Yesterday on my way home from work, it was $2.72/gal at the same station. Last week, it was around $2.58/gal.
We just bought plane tickets for our WDW trip at the end of this month, and it looks like that was a good choice, especially if the prices keeping creeping upward.
Gas in San Diego (one of the most expensive gas markets in the country) got below $2.00/gal in early '09 due to the recession. It's been at least $3.00/gal for about 6 months, I'm sure it'll go up from there.
And wouldn't you know it, we are doing a 2 week road trip this summer. Did one in 2008 when prices were over $4. I have bad timing.
Highest I ever saw was May 2008, that gas station west of Yosemite National Park entrance. $5.10 for self serve. We took a picture because no one would believe us.
