I filled up yesterday for $3.63. Then I moved my car to a parking space, returned a few texts and e-mails, went inside for a coffee, and chatted with the cashier for a minute.

While driving away I noticed the sign had changed to $3.61. :furious: It was no more than 10 minutes after I paid.

I felt like going back and demanding a 28 cent refund for my 14 gallons.

A reverse case of you snooze you lose.

Or the early bird gets screwed.

Babs! Baba-dabba-dabs! It's but a mere 28 cents! Next time it will be cheaper- which beats being pricier! Glass half-full and silver linings, my bro-bro!

And yet Starbucks is still getting away with charging $7 for those coffee shakes. What is it about gas that people will drive half way across town to save 5 cents a gallon but with coffee see no problem paying top dollar for lousy coffee?
Same reason vans were supermarket crap shoes until they slapped some colors on them and suddenly people payed top dollar. Same reason truffle oil (essence of skunk) became popular.

Finally below $3/gallon where I live. Probably going to have to drive a long distance for Thanksgiving, so hope the drop continues.

They get away with it because people will pay it, in droves. It's not even great coffee.

SIL just sent me a picture of the Sheetz gas sign in Morgantown WV and it's down to $3.38 there

I doubt the people driving across town to save a few cents on gas are the same people regularly stopping at Starbucks.

Gas prices have been rising here the past week by about a dime a gallon. Cheapest gas station near me is $4.59 self serve. Welcome to California!

That's nothing. We were returning from DD's soccer game the other night, about 30 minutes from home and DW said she needed to go to the bathroom. So I pull into a Speedway, I have ~1/4 tank, and decide to fill up. $3.49/gallon ($3.46 with my speedway card). Continue home and the truck stop by our house was $3.19. I wasted $3!

Now that gas is down at a minimum more than a $1 per gallon over what it was for many months, I'm still waiting here tapping my foot for the food prices to go down. I mean, how many times did I see a sign in my grocery store that they had to raise XX Brand's milk price by XX amount because of "fuel costs." And that did it quickly. Now, not so much. This is the kind of thing that actually enrages me. It makes sense that prices go up due to "fuel costs" but anyone notice that the NEVER COME BACK DOWN?

For what it's worth, diesel fuel prices haven't been dropping nearly as fast as gasoline has.

Similar to when they put permanent caps on the bed on pickups, put in a small 3rd row of seats and coined the term, SUV. 💲 💲
Or like when they put PB&J in the same container and coined the term Goober Jam. 💲💲 💲💲💲 💲💲💲

Not sure where you are, but they are coming down quickly here by me in MN. I bought eggs about 10 days ago - Aldi cuz my cheap Kwik Trip was out - and they were just under $3 for 12. A few days later, ran to Target for some stuff and had to kill time, so perused the groceries. Eggs were under 2 for 18! I didn't need them, but I bought 2 - made deviled eggs this weekend with them.

Bread was cheap...$2.xx for the good, not crap stuff, frozen stuff was ridiculously cheap (I never buy it cuz I can make it cheaper, but like frozen waffles were $1...so I got some for the not-a-morning-person-teenager so he can do something easy some mornings), I got lunch meat, cheese, apples (big net of granny smiths for like $4), sour cream, some beans, some tomato juice for chili, Perfect bars, etc. My cart was FULL. Spent about a 60% of what I had been spending lately.

The only grocery that I buy regularly that I have seen increase in price lately is butter. Everything else seems to be on a slide down. I am a low carb vegetarian, so eggs are what I always have my eye on - SO excited to see that come back down to normal..
Placing an Aldi Instacart order today and I am noticing the same thing - the cart that cost me $165 or so over the last few months (I shop bi-weekly) is 139 today...I will take it!!! That includes some convenience foods I rarely buy - DH just started a new job and doesn't get a traditional lunch, so getting stuff for trail mix, etc.

Hope similar relief starts to show up everywhere!

I don't pay attention to gas prices much, cuz its a necessity without much of a substitution. But, I did notice some stations around here were at 3.13...seems to be trending "the right way"
