Harleyquinn, he knows about my Disneyism. He just smiles and asks if my daughter wants to go or if it's just me. He's also "rewarded" me with a couple of WDW trips over the years. It DOES instill alot of loyalty in me!!!!

Great now I'm super jealous! What a great boss! Most of the writers/illustraters I've met are so cool. How'd you luck out with that job?

Harleyquinn, it's such a long story................but all the credit goes to my higher power. I sent my resume to an ad in our local newspaper and they called for an interview.......(I'd never heard of him)..........I had a dream the night before my interview. Went to the interview and Ruth (his wife) told me his flight had been cancelled due to weather in Seattle. My DREAM had been about when I lived in the Seattle area..........and all the hair stood up on my body. She chatted with me and asked if I would come back the following day so that Gary could talk to me. Yep. She also said that there were a couple other people who were better qualified. I said that there wasn't anything that I COULDN'T or WOULDN'T learn if they were patient enough. (I have a big sense of humor, too). I also said that I'd be glad to sit there and type the reject letters for the others!!!!I was also "interviewed" by one of their dogs (gotta be a "dog person" to work here!). Early the next morning, Gary called and said that I had the job, if I wanted it...........which I already knew because of the dream/cancelled flight. He said that Ruth had liked my confidence, sense of humor, and my smile. This job was truly given to me by God and I've been blessed to work for truly talented and unbelievably wonderful people for nine years.

WOW!! A DISer knows Paulsen??

This is a very funny timed thread, as I am a children's librarian and I am reading Hatchet right now!! I am a little over half way through, and I assume from reading this, that Brian does get out of the Canadian wilderness! I am at the part where he is sick of fish and wants real meat, which means trying to kill one of those birds. I decided to read this book since it was on many summer reading lists I been seeing. I'll probably finish the book tonight!
