Well, everyone thinks I'm weird and some are even mad. I don't want to wear a traditional garter (white, lace, "something blue", ect....) I'm wearing an orange and purple Clemson Tigers wedding garter. Is anyone else wearing a "non-conventional" garter for their wedding day???

i don't think i'm going to wear one, unless i can find one that's totally right...having a hard time with this...

ok, so i just did a google search and decided that i will wear one, just not a traditional one...

I am wearing a USC Trojans garter (my alma mater), so no, I do not think you are weird at all!

DISNEYmooner2008, I don't think you're weird at all. For my original wedding, I wore a garter that was kind of a family tradition that started with my older sister's marriage. It was green and had some sort of fluffy green feathers on it. Gaudy to the max. Yuck! But it was a tradition and I proudly wore it, as did my younger sister. I still have that garter in my bank's safety deposit box (don't ask!). But for my FTW 20th anniversary vow renewal, I forgot all about it until it was too late. It broke my heart not to wear it. But for my 25th vow renewal, I hope to remedy that situation. ;)

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I wish you all the happiness in the world.

I'm wearing a traditional blue & white garter, but a friend of mine wore a camo garter on her wedding day to surprise her DH who's obsessed with hunting :) I thought it was cute.

TexasCourt: Did you order your garter set from Ebay?? Kristi's Charmed Life store on Ebay?? That's where I ordered my garter set and it looks identical!!

Here's mine

Well, personally, I think that's a terrible idea for a garter. Now if you wanted to get one that was red and white, with WOLFPACK written all over it, I think that could work. hehe So in other words, just kidding about the first part. I wore a NC State garter with a plain blue and white cheapo to toss. The NC State one is displayed at home now (not sure where just yet-we moved in last week).

I'm loving the two piece sets that Disneymooner and TexasCourt (great first name, by the way-I'm a Courtney, too) have. Those are so cute! We bought mine at the school bookstore, so it didn't have a "mate." I like those better than mine!

i'm going to handmake myself something like this...with all the beautiful christmas stuff out now, it shouldn't be too hard to find lace...

i also thought about this one, but it reminds me of something a stripper would wear...not the look i'm going for, but i like it...

Is it just me or does anyone else see the possibility for a hidden mickey here?

:rotfl: Haha, being in Durham right now, I am surrounded by Wolfpack fans! Thanks for the compliments, and like your name!;)

I used the Disney one with the crystal mickey as well and just loved it! I still have one (2 come in the pack - one to toss one to keep!)

i ordered mine online (1 to keep and 1 to toss). they both have mickey on them with some lace...

The thought has never occured to me to even wear a garter - guess I'm not too traditional! Plus, with an Escape there won't be any boquet or garter tosses. That said, definitley do something fun!!
