I have the Garmin Forerunner 10 currently, but have been hearing a lot about the FitBit recently. Would it be redundant to have both of these or do they serve different functions? Would I wear them both when running?

I have both and in my mind they have different uses. I use my Garmin 10 for running and my FitBit for all day use to measure my overall activity level, sleep, etc. The FitBit gives you daily step, stair goals, and just really motivates you to move more often throughout the day. I love both!

I have them both; I only wear the Garmin when I run. The Fitbit only gives the number of steps; it can't tell you your distance or pace. The Fitbit I keep on all the time.

i have the 10 and the jawbone UP!. i just got the 10, but only wear it on my runs. i like it because i don't have to plan my routes.

i wear the UP! all day. i can't get the fitbit, but the UP! has been really great. it tracks your steps, and you can calibrate it so it will give a better indication of distance, and you can track all your other activities (yoga, crossfit, biking, etc.)

jawbone gives really good support as well. my band ripped and they instantly sent a new one out to replace it.

Just ran a half marathon this weekend and LOVE that the fitbit gave me not only the number of steps but also the distance I ran for the event and the pace I ran.
And it was accurate with my Nike+ for both distance and pace. Love the stopwatch feature of the fitbit.

I wear the fit bit flex because I can wear it in the water. I do water walking classes 2 days a week and water aerobics 2 days a week and it will measure my steps and distance traveled. I did a lot of research to see which one would work and was waterproof for the pool. Love my fit bit! :lovestruc
