Is it worth it to take the trip to the Gardner furniture outlets? It would be about a 1 1/2 hour drive for me (without traffic). How are the savings?

Thanks!

I almost replied this morning but I felt like I didn't have much to say. I'm from Gardner. Anytime we need furniture, we drive to Natick to go to Jordan's. The stores here in town are beautiful and quite an experience. But for the most part, locals can't afford to shop there. I know that the price tags at the outlets reflect big savings from the MSRP, but the prices still seem high to me. I'm sure the quality is great, but the average Gardner resident just can't do it.

If you're looking for a nice weekend drive, come visit! I think it is kind of neat out here. PM me if you'd like some suggestions for restaurants or anything.

Hi Melissa! :wave2:

We bought furniture from there about 10 years ago. I remember the whole experience to be "ok", but not a lot of great prices. Not sure how things are now. It might be worth it to go check them out and you may just find the right pieces.

Jill

P.S. We'll be at the WLV in June! :)

My DSIL and I went. I did buy a couple of things. As someone else said it was okay. I am not so sure I would go back. I like Jordan better. Plus with Jordans I got free stuff since the Red Sox Won the world Series

It depends what kind of furniture you want. If you're looking for high end furniture, then yes, the prices are good. If you're looking for everyday furniture, then Jordan's or Bernie & Phyl's might be a better option. We bought our new dining room set in Gardner but it was from a place that does refinishing in an old factory and also sells new furniture for a good price, but it's not one of the 'outlets'.

We went recently when we were looking for furniture for our family room. Honestly, I didn't see any "deals". We weren't looking for anything high end, just something nice and comfy without being too big. I thought the prices were better at Jordan, Bernie & Phyls and Bobs.

Can I ask the name of that place? We're looking for a dining room set as well. Thanks.

Hi Jill!:wave2:

Good to "see" you! DH has the day off tomorrow and we thought about going to Gardner, now I'm just not sure. We haven't done that much looking around here yet.

I'm soooo jealous, WVL in June!! That still is my favorite DVC resort. We're planning tentatively for April 2009, I know, a long way off  ! But the kids want to go back to VWL, we didn't stay there last trip. Did you request a pool view? That's what we do and have always had great rooms. I'm guessing you're going when school gets out...hope for no snow days!!!;)
