Has anyone done a comparison of the these services? What is the best value? What is the most convenient? Any pros and cons appreciated. We just want drinks, quick breakfasts, and snacks.....Are there any other services out there?

It seems to me that with GardenGrocer and DVC you order from their list with prices and pay a delivery fee. DVC does not seem to have as much selection as garden grocer.

It seems that with WeGoShop, you give them a list, they find it, buy it, and present you with the receipt - and add a delivery fee.

The last time we purchased our "groceries" at the DVC store we spent over $40 for basically milk, diet coke, cream cheese, butter & 3 bottles of beer! I said THAT'S IT!! No more DVC groceries! I compared the other 2 services last year before going with Garden Grocer. Both services have good & bad points. Here's what I found out & how I chose GG over WeGo.

Marge at WeGo was very nice & helpful on the phone when I called to ask questions. I liked that I could specify EXACTLY what I wanted and that they would give me the receipt. However, they're a smaller organization and their delivery slots fill up further in advance so you need to place your order earlier if you're going at a busy time of year. Also, they prefer that you're there to receive the order and that you pay with cash. That doesn't always work out for us. They will accept a credit card and leave the order with Bell Services BUT when I checked, they charged like an additional 13% fee to use a credit card.:sad2: Garden Grocer does not charge extra to do that. And finally, their delivery fee was like $5 higher than Garden Grocer's so I figured the small price markup at GG would be a wash for the few items we wanted. Finally, by ordering from the items on their website I knew in advance what I'd be paying - with WeGo you won't know your final total until you get there. The real kicker for me tho with WeGo was that 13% fee to use a credit card if we weren't there to receive the order.

For our trip last summer our flight was early but we knew our unit wouldn't be ready until later. So I just scheduled the GG delivery window for around the actual check-in time & said we wouldn't be there and asked that it be left with Bell Services. In addition to our breakfast items we ordered a couple of cases of water & a case of beer. I had faxed a copy of my ID and they left everything w/o any problems. When we got to the resort we left our carry-ons with Bell Services and headed out to the parks. Once our unit was ready and we'd been notified that it was ready we went back to the resort to get settled & just stopped by Bell Services to request that everything be sent up all together. For our trip in a couple of weeks we have a late evening flight - we don't even land until almost 10:30 so again, we won't be there to receive the order so I already paid by credit card and selected the latest delivery window (7-9:00) and just asked that it be left with Bell Services - we'll just retrieve it when we get there.

You've got the basics.
We've used GG once but now stick with wegoshop.
We just prefer being able to specify what we want and where she shops (if necessary). We always just set a delivery time and meet her with cash or check. Really like Marge and her personal service. And I'm just more comfortable having groceries handed to me and putting them away immediately.
While I'd rather pay with credit card, overall we prefer the flexibility and service from wegoshop.
With either one, the delivery fees or mark-ups are quickly saved in comparison to the high cost of Disney snacks, water and alcohol.:thumbsup2

I have used both DVC resort and Garden Grocer. DVC resort had a very limited list and I had a problem with that. Unfortunately, I didn't know about Garden Grocer or WeGoShop at the time or I would have used one of them. I felt like I had five day's worth of junk food. I will NEVER use them again.

This past trip we used Garden Grocer. Since we were 6 people and were staying for the entire week, we easily had over $200 worth of items, which meant our delivery was FREE. Any items or brands not on their list I added in at the comments section when checking out. This was at GG's direction and they were able to get everything I requested, including beer. I charged the cost to my credit card and requested that the order be dropped off with bell services around the time of my arrival (around 11am). I had a message on my cell phone after we landed at 9:30 that our order had been delivered. When we got to the resort, we were lucky that our room was ready, so I requested that our groceries be delivered, which they promptly were.

I found them to be wonderful to use.

I would pick between Garden Grocer or WeGoShop based on which ordering model you prefer. I like selecting from a (large) list, because it's easy and I don't forget as many things (oh, yeah, we need butter too!), so I use Garden Grocer. Others prefer We Go Shop for the level of detailed control you get.

I suspect that for smaller orders GG works out a little better, but for larger orders, WGS is a bit of a better deal. GG's delivery fees are lower, but they probably have a little bit of a markup in their prices.

For us because we are only 2 and we only do breakfast DVC was fine.

We ordered bagels, eggs, sausage, milk, butter, peanut butter, half n half and Danish.

We packed a box of cereal and Dunkin Donut's coffee and large filters.

Studio this trip so no eggs n sausage.

Beer this time will be a trip to DTD and Hess Express and back to BLT by bus.

How does this work out with refrigerated items such as milk, deli, and dairy? Does Garden Grocer mark the refrigerated items and does bell services refrigerate it until you get there and claim it?

Yep! The refrigerated items are bagged together (we didn't order anything frozen) and Bell Services has a large refrigerator that they store the items in for you until you request them to be delivered to your room.:thumbsup2

We had a bunch of freezer stuff and everything came frozen. I can't say enough how easy it was.

That's what we do with GG with a late flight in, have them drop off the at the last delivery and I send DH to bell services to get the order and load the golf cart while I check in.

We've been very happy with GG(I usually have a ton of fresh fruit in my order and it's always been of nice quality).

Does bell services have an issues holding on to the groceries till say later in the evening? We are checking in pretty earlier and don't expect our room to be ready til we are in a park enjoying dinner and eventually Fantasmic. I also didn't realize they refrigerate items as well as keep stuff frozen - that is GREAT!!

we used wegoshop for our trip in December.

Marge is great.

We sent our list of what we wanted specifically. She got us wine and beer(we sent names of what we wanted and they found).

Also have son with severe peanut allergy and they made sure none of the products had or was produced in factory that has peanuts or tree nuts.

Also they used coupons they had for some of the products that we ordered to save us money which actually could cost them money because their delivery charge is based on cost of goods purchased.

Now we've never used other companies so can't say anything about comparison but we can support Marge and wegoshop whole heartedly.

I've rolled in from MCO anywhere between 10pm-11:30pm the last 2 Thanksgivings and it was no problem.

Anal Annie summed it up quite nicely! We generally order a decent amount of groceries, and cook a couple of times when down there. Since WeGo has higher fees, we continue to go with Garden Grocer. We have used them 3 or 4 times now, I have always been pleased with their service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, and honestly, will be a loyal customer since they've given me no reason to look elsewhere! :thumbsup2

We like deli meats sliced to order, will GG and WEGO shop do that or is it all pre-packaged stuff?

Since we do basically only snacks and light breakfast stuff, I'm going with the resort shops now. I have consistently bought way more than I needed by using a grocery delivery service. So, I had a lot of waste. Add to that the delivery fees and the tips that are needed, well.....too much money for me. I have decided to just buy my milk, cream, butter and such at the shop. Yes, it's a bit more expensive but I can get what I need and not have to worry about tossing stuff out. I'll be bringing my own dry goods....cereals, bagels, that sort of thing.

We've used Garden Grocer and DVC for food delivery. GG was fine. They got everything on our list and called to let us know an approximate arrival time but DW wasn't as happy with GG fees. We used DVC for food on our last trip and while the selection was limited compared to GG, they had everything we wanted. Plus with DVC, the food was delivered into your room and everything was loaded in the fridge too which was nice.

So, if we order our groceries from DVC - When we check in and go to the parks before we know our room number, when our room is ready DVC will deliver the groceries to our room once it's assigned while we are gone? That sound way too convenient.....

The food gets delivered to the resorts after check-in time so some time after 4pm the food is delivered to the rooms. For us, our room was ready when we arrived at 1pm or so. We went to the park and when we came back at the end of the night, the food was in our room and the fridge. So we were not tn our room when the food arrived

Also, when I mailed in my food order, I got a call from CM at Zawadi Marketplace confirming my order and giving their number to call if I had any questions or wanted to add to my order. I thought that was a nice touch.

If that's all you need, I agree DVC shopping is the way to go. We eat 90% of our meals in the room and need a broader selection, so we need to use a service like GG.
