DH and I reserved a spot at the Garden View Tea Room during our stay. We're so excited!! I've been reading reviews and looking at pictures but I have a few questions ...

1) I hear the portions are filling, but are they filling that me and DH could share an entree (we're thinking Buckingham Palace Entree)?

2) The reservation also includes my friend, so she can also get a treat, but as we are paying for the vacation, we (unfortunately) need to have her buy her own if she can.
Does she have to buy an entree or can she just purchase some tea or just a pastry/etc?

3) How much did you usually pay in the end? Could you please include how many in your party and what was ordered?

I'm sorry to be nit-picky but we need to watch our spending (we can splurge a tiny bit) and I'm in charge of budgeting for the trip :)

1) It all depends on how much you both normally eat/how hungry you are at the time. Yes it is very filling. A pot of tea and the sandwich's each as well as the cheese plate split, will fill both my mother and myself so we normally use this for a long relaxing lunch

2) Yes your friend can just order the tea and a treat.

3) It normally runs my party around $75.00+ is there are 3-4 of us and about $45.00+ if there's 2 of us, but we order everything a la carte. We are usually a part of between 2-4. Normally we share a cheese plate, then two of us usually get tea sandwich's, one will get jam tarts and the strawberries and cream plus we all get our own pot of tea and some scones.

I would definitely not split a tea service, but I would just order ala carte. Order your own teas and then order things to share...such as the cheese plate, it is huge. Check out the menus with prices on this site and others and see if it would fit in your budget. Can't help you on how much we spend...I can never remember. And yes, as the pp suggested, your friend can order tea only if she wishes.

I went with my DD8 last summer and I got the Buckingham Palace tea and DD got the Mrs. Potts tea (chocolate milk). It was just right for the two of us, the BP wouldn't have been enough for the two of us to share, plus I think each person needs to at least order their own pot of tea.

It was beautiful and the food was fun and tasty, we really had a great time and she still talks about it.

Thank you all for the feedback, you've really helped!

That's VERY good to know about the cheese plate, I was eyeing that lol I'm sure we will order that.

So, it would be best to order a-la-cart than to order a full set 'entree'?

I took dd (16) there in Feb. I got a coke (don't really care for tea but dd wanted to go) and she ordered the Buckingham and we split the food. I just put it on my kttw. It filled us up, we were both full until dinner.

My adult DD and I always enjoy the full service that gives you everything AND a glass of sparkling wine(:thumbsup2). I think it's only around $24.99/pp and we are very satisfied and only require a light snack much later into the evening.
It's WONDERFUL. Enjoy! :goodvibes
