Has anyone had afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian? Not the Afternoon Tea Party or whatever it's called for young set, but the more "formal" version primarily geared for adults/teens/and children too. We're thinking of doing this in January. I'd love to hear your experience. Also, where exactly is the Tea Lounge located? I'm afraid it will be loud and hectic if it's smack dab in the lobby of the GF, as we'll be there during New Year's Eve and I'm sure people will be viewing the gingerbread house and other holiday festivities. Thanks!

I've done this and it was wonderful. It really was a quiet respite during an adventure filled day. While it is in the lobby area of the GF, once you enter it seems secluded and peaceful (it's a room unto itself, not an open area in the lobby). When I have gone it's been mostly adults in attendence but a well behaved child would not be out of place.
The teas were very interesting, the desserts tasty and the sandwiches were good too. We substituted a tea for lunch one day and were quite happy.

Go for it! I can't wait to go back.

We went in early April and it was amazing, just DH and I and we loved it. A ton of pics and a full review are in the link in my signature
