I made ADR's for the Garden View Tea at GF for May. I can't wait. DH is worried that he won't fit in. Feels its a women thing. So, anyone out there who drug their man to tea and he enjoyed it?

I told him he would be fine. I hope :rolleyes1

Thanks,

Cyndi

I was just there today. I sat beside an older couple and he didn't l;ook out of place and as I was nearing the end of my tea there was a young guy there with his wife and he was way too hunky to look out of place!

And then there were all the 5 or 6 guys in the wedding party...

So no men were not out of place today!

Yeah, I 'drag' my male travelmate in there and he's fine - the waitresses are all young and some can get quite giggly when provoked. Speaking from experience here

As long as he can handle the fancy, flowery decor and china, he'll be fine. They do serve beer and port if he needs some mood shifting...

I can't even get my DH to walk into the resort let alone go to tea! :lmao::lmao:

Thanks for the replies. I think he'll be just fine. Hey, I have to do the MK train tour with him, I think he can put up with the tea. He'll get food, so he'll be happy with that!

My husband has gone with me several times, and he actually enjoys it. He's a serious tea drinker, though.

If he's picturing a room full of women in dresses and fancy hats and high-heels and white gloves, tell him it's not like that at all. Every time I've been, there have been plenty of men there, and families. The decor in the room is certainly very feminine, but it's not a girls club. No white gloves. ;) People tend to be in business casual wear, it's not a dress-up sort of place. A very comfortable atmosphere.

DH went with me and he loved it! It was a nice quiet relaxing 75 minutes, he was not the only man there either.

From looking at the menus, it seems they really try to make men comfortable - why else the name of the "meaty" tea?

I am so happy for you that you are getting to go! Please tell us how it went - actually, I want to hear about both the trains AND the tea!

We've dragged men in with us, and they usually end up enjoying the tea! Good luck, I'm sure your DH will be pleasantly surprised.:goodvibes

My DH would probably not choose to do this, but would go if it would please me. It wouldn't be his favorite thing, but he wouldn't be uncomfortable. Knowing this, I do the tea with female friends and family while he enjoys time relaxing by the pool or hanging with the boys. You know your guy best. This isn't an overly frilly type place where he will be the only male in the room.

Thanks for all the input. I'll be sure to take photo's and do a report when we get back. It should be fun & I have told him that it should be relaxing.

I have been wondering this myself for awhile now. Both my boyfriend and I are somewhat serious tea drinkers and this definitely interests me. He is concerned that he'd feel out of place. Thanks for the info, DISers! :)
