If you are staying in a Deluxe Studio, the view is great from the Ewa Tower overlooking the Halawai Lawn where the Starlit Hui and Disney movie nights are shown.
Related question ... I assume the best way to make a room request is to call the resort directly. Is it better to do this as early as possible or shortly before your trip?
I asked the same question about how to make a room request before our trip, and everyone said it didn't matter how you asked. That seems to be true. Our travel agent put it on our res via a phone call to the resort. No matter how you do it, they will still tell you "it's just a request, no guarantees". We ended up changing rooms b/c we hated the air returns at the end of the Ewa wing our 1-bedroom villa was on (soooo loud), so changing rooms is a possibility if you hate the room you end up with. They were really, really good about the room change. The valet who helped with our luggage transfer said it wasn't uncommon at all, that Aulani wants you to be happy! May not always be possible if you're there during a busy time, of course, but this was over Memorial Day weekend and still worked out for us.
Ok I'm gonna hijack for a second! We're doing a 1BR pool view, but would really like to be on about the 6th floor to maybe see over the trees, but still be able to walk the stairs in a pinch. Any thoughts on which tower has the better view for that area?? TIA!!
If you are a DVC member you can email them to submit our request. They emailed me back a few hours later to let me know it was requested. No guarantees, of course
We put our request on our reservation, then again noted it on our online check in. In our case, it all worked out & we got our request. I never actually spoke to anyone about it, it was all online.
