Can anyone share info about the traditional tea sandwiches at the GF Afternoon tea ? What are they made with? TIA.

I believe they were watercress and cucumber, egg salad, and maybe tuna or some other seafood. They also had peanut butter and jelly for the kids.

I remember the sandwiches being a really yummy grilled pear and gorgonzola, a chicken or turkey salad with cherries (my 2 favorites) and a deviled salmon salad and egg salad. I also remember a watercress & cucumber. Now I've done this a bunch of times and maybe they've taken one out and replaced it with another. But I'm not sure exactly which that one would be, but I think it's either the cucumber or the egg salad. It's definitely not the pear or the chicken and I remember the salmon staying because I didn't particularly care for it. (Although i like salmon, I found it to be a little dry.)

We just did this the last week of August and for sandwiches there was a shrimp one, a watercress and cucumber one, grilled pear and gorgonzola and a chicken w/ almonds or walnuts can't remember which and a very yummy egg salad one. The sandwiches are all on different types of bread with the crusts cut off and are half sandwiches. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Sounds yummy :earboy2: On the AllEars Menu it mentions choice of pastries, what is there to choose from?

There are chocolate covered strawberries, mini eclairs, little layered pieces of cake, pastry swans filled with custard (mine was banana flavored), I think that the swan flavors change daily, fruit tarts and lots more I'm sure. I had the swan and fruit tart and they were both yummy. My DD7 had the layered cake and eclair and loved them both. After we left we felt like we had been to a spa or something since it was such a wonderfully relaxing experience. We spent extra time at the GF listening to the grand piano player and then when he was done, a wonderful band started playing jazz-type music which we sat and listened to.

If you go to the ALLS EARS site you can get menus and reviews from all the WDW restaurants including the Afternoon tea.

My DH and I did this 2 years ago and had a wonderful time.

It was so much food we skipped dinner that night.

Have fun :Pinkbounc

For the younger ones, the have "Mrs Potts Tea" which includes chocolate milk, 3 finger sandwiches (PB & J, tuna, and ham & Cheese) and then a choice of 2 pastries or fresh strawberries & cream.

I take my Dniece every year and it is the highlight of out trip.

My wife loved the "High Tea"....I was wearing my "good husband" hat and tried to make the best of it.

I felt a bit like Jed Clampett at Buckingham Palace

Or did you look like my DH? All I could think of was "Tim the Tool Man does the Grand Floridian Tea." I had a hard time not bursting out laughing at him, he looked so uncomfortable. But, hey, he DID try!

Men get a bad rap....I did the whole high tea thing!

Although I drew the line when she wanted "The Disney Princesses" bedspread.

We will be doing the Tea in a couple of weeks and we are really looking forward to it. I did not have to have my arm twisted to go either. :earsboy:

Can you use any dining credits for the Tea?

Thanks
Unfortunately when I called to make ADR I was told you cannot use the dining plan for this.

I wish you could do this with dining credits. My DD and I are on the dining plan. I would love to have tea some day but I think we already have more food than we will be able to eat. Maybe next trip.
