Garden Grove travel time - worth it??

Quick question - We are staying at the All Star Movie Resort in May. I found a place where I can get a great discount on a gift certificate at the Garden Grove restaurant in the swan and dolphin. Would it be worth it to buy this gift certificate, or would travel to and from the parks and that particular resort be difficult? We would like to go to a park in the morning, leave for lunch at the garden grove, and then head home for a nap. Anyone have any info? Thanks!

Assuming you are using WDW free transpo, the most likely scenario that works is to head to GG for lunch during a day at DHS or Epcot. DHS seems like an easier trip, since the boat from DHS gets you to the Swan in 8 minutes (travel time, doesn't include wait time), or you could walk it in roughly 15 minutes. Also, DHS has much fewer dining options than Epcot, so leaving for lunch could make sense.
If you choose Epcot day, you've got to slip out the back entrance (IG), then get to the Swan. Afterward, you have to get back into Epcot, then trek through to the front of the park to catch a bus to All Stars. That's quite a hike, and would take at least 30 minutes to reach the bus area.

I can't help you with the travel time information but if you are getting the gift certificate from restaurant.com make sure it is good for lunch. Depending about the discount sometimes it is only good for dinner.

It would not be a terribly difficult commute to/from DHS. And as mentioned earlier, and easy one from Epcot, slightly more complicated on the return - which you can cut a little shorter by beating the boat and walking across the bridge from the Swan to the Boardwalk (and either boarding the boat there or continuing your walk over to the International Gateway). Either way you have to hike to the front of the park at Epcot to catch a bus back to All-Stars.

That being said, the Restaurant.com certificates are only valid for dinner, and will cover almost one adult or almost two kids. Children there are also anyone age 3-9, just like any of the Disney restaurants. Regular price for adults is between $29 and $36, depending on which night you go (menu varies and prices vary with it) and whether or not it is a holiday/peak upcharge night. Kids are something like $13-16 again depending on menu and holiday upcharge or not.
