I am wondering if anyone has eaten at Garden Grove before and what they think of the BBQ night? We have resies currently for a Sat in Oct. and just want to make sure it is worth it. We bought the coupons available at restaurant.com so It will give us $25 off are order. Basically, buy one get one buffet for $6.

Also...we saw recently a ton of bad reviews for Ill Mulino and are wondering if it is maybe just biased people who do not eat at the Mouse often. Again, have a coupon for $25 off our bill. We are not seafood people so hope the Manicotti or other dishes get good reviews.

Appreciate all the advice guys! :worship:

We've eaten at both places:
GG - very good weekend breakfast, but having tried the Med. night and seafood night, I am in no hurry to complete the cycle (though I do think the menu for BBQ night looks good). Med. night was a good value, but seafood night was overpriced for what was available on the buffet. With the coupon you speak of, I think the value would make it worth a try for BBQ night.
Il Mulino - we've dined there at least 7 times now since they opened, and have had excellent food each time, and excellent service 6 of the 7. One of the best meals at WDW. Just ate there in August, and we're there again in October. Expensive meal, but excellent none the less.
I recommend the pollo fra diavolo and the gnoche bolognese. The tiramisu is amazing as well.:thumbsup2 (If the search is working, I've got at least one review, maybe two, with pix, posted on the review forum.)

Robert, what is the dress code at Il Mulino? If we wore khaki shorts and a nice s/s shirt would this be appropriate? We don't usually bring dress clothes but would love to try Il Mulino, since we will be staying at The Swan in a few weeks. What is the norm?

We were there in August. I thought it was good. Not supurb but good. It was very expensive for what we received althouth so is Tutto Italia. The service was very good. I would definately go back if it were not for the price. We used a restaurant.com certificate which helped a lot. I think I had some kind of tortellini. DH had a spicy pasta dish which he said was very spicy. He thought it strange that they didn't warn him in advance about how spicy it was. We both wanted pasta and if you order a meat, most of them do not come with pasta although you are welcome to pay extra for pasta with those. DH said he didn't think it was good.

Il Mulino is the only restaurant we've been to that actually enforces some part of their dress code (I've heard Victoria & Albert's does as well.). I saw a guy turned away in the Spring for wearing a sleeveless shirt, even though it was a neat looking shirt.

I wear dress shorts and either a golf shirt or nice s/s button down, and sandals, and I am dressed middle of the road. You see some people in nicer outfits, usually associated with business or a conference at the Swan/Dolphin. The outfit you described should be absolutely fine.

Thanks for the advice and I had not thought about dress code when making the 5 p.m. reservations. So I am assuming a collared shirt for guys is okay even if short sleeve and for women a nice pair of capris and top would be okay? Not sleeveless. I just don't know what time we will have to run back and change.

If you can give an overview of dress attire you saw, that would be awesome!

****Thanks everyone BTW - I so appreciate all the help!!

Collared shirt, short sleeve, I would say is the norm for guys. Typically, we've seen women in dress pants / capris, and a nice top, and even a few sun dress looking things (sorry, I am not up to date on women's fashion terms). It really is a broad spectrum there, with people in suits and ties at one table, and nice vacation wear at the table beside them. I would call it a business casual atmosphere, for the norm. Seen a fair amount of guys with nice sandals (not flip flops).
I do know that tank tops and sleeveless shirts (for guys) is not permitted, and they may/will ask you to go change and come back, while they hold your reservation for you. Saw it happen myself.

We ate at Il Mulino for dinner this past July. It was great! The best Italian food on WDW property. Sorry Mama Melrose's and Tutto Italia. I highly recommend Il Mulino.
