Garden Grocer

Gardengrocer FAQs say that we should notify the resort ahead of time to let them know that we are having groceries delivered. Does everyone do this?

I have never done that, but I don't remember reading all of the FAQs either. I've had GG deliver to BWV a few times and FW once. Didn't notify the resorts and everything turned out fine. I'm not really sure how you would notify them very easily since the calls go to a call center, not to the actual resort. I just tried calling WDW to add a request to my Spring Break ressie and the hold time was estimated to be more than 30 minutes. Not waiting that long to do anything!

I've never done this! We have ordered several times from GG and sometimes we are already checked into our room in which case they get delivered directly. Sometimes we have not been checked in or we didn't want to sit around and wait for groceries in which case Disney puts them in cold storage and they get delivered later.:thumbsup2

We've used GG twice and really love the service.

First time was at POP and the order was delivered on time (requested it be at resort before we where there) in the mean time POP put our food in the fridge, everything was kept nice and cold. :)
We ordered....a case of water, soda for hubby, cereal, milk, fresh fruit-bananas, apples, some snack crackers, bread, and peanut butter. Everything was in perfect order.

Second trip we stayed at Coronado Springs and pretty much ordered the exact same thing plus some yogurt, not one hiccup. Our food was there when we got there (around noon) and already in the fridge when we got to our room. :lovestruc

If I HAD to complain, I would say they weren't very accommodating on getting our soda in plastic 32 oz. bottles for us, but they also didn't offer it online either so it was really a shot in the dark to ask to begin with. Oh well! :goodvibes

Over all, we would continue to use them over and over again. They do what they say they will do and haven't had any real issues to not recommend them to anyone. :thumbsup2

I've never notified our resort either, and everything has been fine. It's probably a CYA thing, incase something goes wrong they can say 'you should have informed your resort,' sort of thing.

We just returned from AKL and used GG again after having a bad experience last time around. Our previous experience several years ago was similar to the other complaint described above.
But this time all went very well. One item was mixed up, so we had two jars of jelly and no peanut butter. We really liked the convenience of not having to go shopping on our arrival. They delivered in advance of our allotted time, and AKL simply stored our goods until we checked in. We would use the service again next time.

We had a great experience with GG in Sept 2011. I got a voicemail on my phone saying it was delivered to AKL. We were still on the plane.

So you don't have to be present for the food to be delivered? This is the only thing having me hesitate. We are staying at Shades of Green

We've used Garden Grocer when staying at Shades of Green and it worked exactly the same as when one is staying at a Disney resort. Our stuff was delivered before we got our room, so bell services stored/refrigerated the stuff until we were ready for it. No muss, no fuss and way more convenient than making the trek ourselves to a grocery store.

We used them in Sept 2010 and in Sept 2011 and had great service. Not one complaint. We did NOT call the resort to let them know that we were ordering and no problems, bell services stored them and brought them up.

Plus I LOVE the call a few days before confirming our order - it's how I know our trip is only a few days away! Then we usually get the confirmation voicemail or text while we are on the plane.
