Any advice please....

We are checking into a cabin in a couple of weeks. Is there more of a savings ordering from Garden Grocer online before we leave (and have it delivered) OR taking time out from the WORLD and trek over to the nearest Winn Dixie (or similar food store)???

:surfweb:

Walmart is very close and has the best prices but you must go get it yourself and take about an hour out of trip to do so, depending on how much you need to buy.

I had this very same question...or moreso about the nearest grocery shopping to the fort. Have you been to the garden grocer site to check out their prices? Almost everything is double the price you'd get at the store. I will have no rental car but I plan on taking a taxi back and forth to this walmart and will almost certainly come out ahead. If you are driving to WDW, just stop at local grocer on your way in.

The closest is the Goodings in the "Cross Roads" SC, but their prices are really high. The next is a Winn Dixie about 1/2 mile to the left at the intersection of Hotel Plaza Blvd and 535 and they are reasonable price wise. There is a Super WM about 2 miles in the other direction on 535 which has a gas station with diesel that has really good prices.

I dont know how much the taxi would be .. that might be the deciding factor.. but I know for sure the Winn Dixie or Walmart would be alot cheaper. The walmart has some cool souvenir type stuff as well you might want to look into if you traveling wtih kiddos.. will save you some money in the parks!

I would think what it come down to is this.....
Would it be worth the extra money to order ahead of time and have it waiting for you. Then you just don't have to worry about it or......
Worry about how to get back and forth to the grocery or Walmart. Worry about when to fit the trip in etc.
That is a decision that only you can make.

Well, the very day I arrive sounds good as that is a travel day. The bigger question is...how much food and drink do I actually need and will the money that I will save by not using Garden Grocer exceed the cost of a cab to and from Walmart. I'll have to make out my grocery list to find that out. We have 6 people in our group, none of which will even need the second suitcase that Southwest allows on their flights for free....so....we will probably load a couple of suitcases with dry food.
