Garden Grocer vs WeGoShop vs on resort grocery purchases

We prefer Publix, but there are also Wegman's, Winn-Dixie, Super Wal-Mart, Super Target, and I thin a Costco. I know there's a Whole Foods, but it's not particularly close to WDW, so there might be an extra charge. The others are within 5 miles of the parks.

They will also shop at more than one store if you like.

I am so glad OP posted this:) It got me to thinking about better options for shopping. It would be a minimum of $30+tip for a WGS order for us. I have a current order for GG for $300. I might just look into taking a taxi to and from Publix. Has anyone done this, is it cheaper than $50.?

We have used both.

I prefer GG. With GG the transaction was over and done with at the time of purchase. They delivered to the resort first thing in the morning. We take earlier flights, so it is convenient to have the groceries available when we get there.

I didn't care for WGS. The Sam's Club they used was a smaller one and did not have my selections (not a flaw, just that they weren't able to get my preferred items). I used them twice and basically, I found their policies changeable and confusing. The first time the delivery didn't make it to the resort's Guest Services until late afternoon. When I called just to get a rough ETA, Amy was not happy that I was calling. The second time Amy repeated called me and was impatient that I was not at the resort to meet the driver so they could personally hand off the groceries. Um, our flight was delayed, a hand-off was never discussed and there was no alcohol or tobacco. It was a complete policy turn-around from the first delivery.

I might try Amy again in a couple of years, but for now I'm going back to GG. YMMV. :)

For those who have used We Go Shop, what happens when they aren't able to find an item you requested? We want to do an order for Whole foods, but I am not sure if the items at our Whole Foods would be the same as the ones in Florida...? Do you give them another option if they can't find what you list or do they just not purchase it?

Sometimes they call. I would specify whether you want an alternate or to skip.

For Whole Foods if you are getting their 365 brand items you should be fine. I know they didn't carry our favored yogurt and didn't have all the flavors we were used to for our alternate. And beers can be difficult since they usually carry local brews.

Where is the Wegmans near WDW. I am from Rochester and that is where I shop, love to be able to shop there while at the world.

We have used WEGO Shop five times. They are fantastic. The first time the shopper called three times to ensure that she was buying the correct baby products for our grandchild. We always have them go to the liquor store too. I think they now charge an additional five dollars to make a second stop.

I'm also from Rochester so this caught my eye, too. I am a Wegmans girl through and through. Their website only lists stores as far south as Virginia and no Florida stores are listed in future locations?

Okay, maybe I was confused on the Wegman's. I'm from NH, the grocery stores down there are all different from what I have here, I was trying to remember the name of the other chain. Sorry about that! I think it's also Sam's Club versus Costco. I really need to pay attention better.

FTR, I really like Publix, was underwhelmed with Winn-Dixie. W-D did let me sign up for their shopping card on the spot, though, so take advantage of their specials. The people at WeGoShop have all the discount cards, so they'll take advantage of specials for you.

Also, I do Super Target/Super Wal-Mart, just for the "familiarity factor".

Does anyone know if the GG located near DtD is in walking distance? Or if not I wonder about how much a cab may cost...
My DD is lactose intolerant and can only drink Horizon Lactose free Milk...which I'm pretty sure they carry, however, we wont need 40.00 in groceries and WGS charges 19.00 + 10% tip for a bill under 50... as much as I love the idea of using a delivery service, it seems it may be easier for me to head out myself to SuperTarget (where we normally buy it) or to GG...:drive:

ETA... ok my bad, in looking further at it, GG only delivers? And has no locations... so I have been told.

I'll just bullet the reasons:

*Incomplete Order
*No IM notification that orders were delivered (verified they had my cell #)
*Obviously rotten fruit delivered
*Lack of empathy from the rep
*No follow up from management

This was disappointing after reading the reviews on DIS. Given that there are other companies that offer this service we'll definitely be using a different grocery delivery service when we return in 2015. And in discussing our vacation with friends and family we let them know our good/great experiences as well as the bad.

It just seems like its going to be easier to get a taxi and head over to super target...

Tbh, I'm not too sure but with the min order cost, tip and delivery fee...it can't be much more. We don't need that Mich groceries :)

ETA... i meant much lol

I attempted to make an order with WGS a few days ago. I put in my order (which did include beer) and asked for 7pm delivery time. I did know we'd have to be there for delivery because of the beer and if we are meeting for it I'd just prefer to take everything up to the room at that point.

I get an e-mail from Amy confirming my delivery for 12:30 pm. Not asking if that is okay, just assuming it was. It wasn't. In addition to not wanting to haul the groceries to bell services and later picking them up, when we have early flights we like (okay my husband needs) to get to lunch by 12. I bring snacks on the flight, but he rarely wants to eat anything I bring so he's starving (and cranky) by the time we get to the resort.

I e-mail Amy back saying that wouldn't work for us and asking if she had a time later in the day. She calls me the next morning (8am) and tells me she doesn't have anything earlier. Okay, then I tell her to please cancel the order and I'd just go with Whole Foods directly (we had a an issue with delivery last time so that's why I was trying to use WGS this time).

Not 15 minutes later I have an e-mail that she can now do a 7pm delivery because one of her regulars is okay with it. I declined.
