For those of you that use Garden Grocer....do you tip on top of the delivery charge? If so, how much?

Just curious. I usually just add a few dollars to the total, but not a certain percentage.

What do you do?

Depends how much stuff I order...I usually don't go overboard since we eat out most of the time, but get stuff like soda, juice, diapers, snacks, etc....usually winds up to be over $100.00 and I give the $10-15 - I can't remember but on the form I think there's a tip for the shopper and then a tip for the person doing the delivering, no??? Maybe I made that part up..... :)

I used their services a few years ago and I don't remember giving a separate tip for shopper and delivery person. Is this something new?

If you aren't in your room when the food arrives, they automatically add I think 10% onto your bill. We just ordered from them last month and it was great! They remembered everything but the bananas.

I had them charge it to my room (they call it "pay out") and then I was able to use my SR disney gift card to pay for it.

Do you have to be in your room when they drop off groceries? If you don't have to be there, where do they leave the groceries?? We're thinking about using this service in May.

No, you don't have to be in your room. They will keep it for you at Guest Services.

I have never been charged a tip if we weren't there when they delivered it. I do tip whenever I am there for the delivery. I just don't believe in tipping prior to receiving the service.

I guess I was wondering because I had recently spoken to someone who mentioned that they don't tip if there is a delivery charge. I hadn't thought about that. I just assumed that the delivery charge goes to the company and not the person delivering it. Am I wrong?

Does the delivery charge go to the person delivering it or to the company?:confused3

I knew I wasn't going to be in my room when they delivered so I added a $10 tip during check out...my pre tip total was around $100.

If you are not in your room, do you need to notify guest services? Do they refrigerate items if needed?

I have not used them.

Also, will Garden Grocer deliver beer, wine, etc. or only mixers?

Will WESHOP.com or any other companies deliver beer and wine with your food order? The cost at the DVC store for these items can be a killer.

If you have made arrangements to pay prior to delivery, they will leave them with bell services. They will put any items in refrigerator or freezer. GG has those items marked so bell services know where to store them. GG will also deliver beer, wine, etc.

I think wegoshop will also deliver alcoholic beverages.

I have used Wegoshop twice and Marge was great. She will deliver beer and wine also. We've never had a problem with the service. And, yes, I have added a tip.

I just used Garden Grocer on my last trip. I was in the room when the food was delivered. We ordered enough to avoid a delivery charge. The delivery person brought everything in and put everything away for us, which I thought was great. I tipped him 10% of the order....

If I understand Weshop correctly, you give them a shopping list. The person then goes to the supermarket buys everything on your list. You pay the actual supermarket bill and the weshop fee based on the total supermerket bill.

Is that correct?

I haven't used Marge, but was just on her website. That is exactly how it sounded to me. It sounds like she will also go the store of your choice. Since I am not from the area, I wouldn't know which store to send her to! After comparing the two Wegoshop and Garden Grocer, it is going to be a tough choice, but I like the idea of using Marge. It sound more personal to me!

For those that have used wegoshop, which store did you choose?

I haven't ordered from wegoshop yet but am leaning towards choosing that service. Many people on the boards have mentioned that they choose Publix. http://www.publix.com/
I want to order 2 cake with my groceries and Publix has very nice Disney ones.

I noticed the dvcmember site has a link for groceries. Is this new? Is it a Disney service? I've never seen anyone mention it when they talk about grocery services.

I've used wegoshop twice......the first time we choose Winn-Dixie (if I remember correctly because this is where we ussually shop when we have a car). The next time I choose Wal-Mart, but Marge talked me out of it as she thought she'd have better luck getting EVERYTHING I needed at Winn-Dixie or Publix (I can't remember which). Mainly the cream cheese, which btw the store was out of the oneI wanted and I ended up having to choose something else anyhow.
