We haven't been home in 2 yrs. We used our points to visit Mecca (DL) the last 2 yrs. I have used wego shop in the past but I understand its changed? Which do you recommend??

We rent a car for the day and shop for ourselves. I did a cost comparison and that is also the least expensive option.

I have used Garden Grocer several times and I've always been happy with the products and service.

I prefer garden grocer. I'm not from the area and don't typically do my door shopping at Walmart so having to create my own lists - with brands - is simply too much work for me. Easier for me to pick from what's displayed on GG website.

As for the constant unsolicited suggestion to rent a car - it's getting OLD and we all understand thats an option. Most folks are asking for delivery suggestions because they have already decided to get delivery. That's like telling someone with an airlines question that they'd be better off driving.

We've used WeGoShop successfully three times (?) and have always been satisfied with their service. You pay the actual cost of the groceries plus a delivery fee and tip.

We make our list at home, but if we need inspiration, we just take paper/pen to our own grocery store on a normal trip. We write down things we maybe would have forgotten.

We had Amy shop at Publix, and she got some great deals for us. We didn't know what brand of water they carried, so we told her we wanted "natural spring water" and she found us the cheap version of that.

With the delivery fee, fuel surcharge, and tip we still come out cheaper than renting a car (and we save the hassle of bringing a car seat for our son). I like having it "done" before we get there. I've never tried Garden Grocer, so I can't comment on their service. When we looked at their pre-made list, the prices seemed much higher than what we see at home, so we opted to use WGS instead.

Many don't read the DIS and only come here once or twice. Just because you may not like a "unsolicited" suggestion, the people who PM me asking who to rent from apparently appreciate it. Some state that they didn't realize that they could get a car at WDW.

I'm glad you mentioned renting a car. It gave me an idea of exploring offsite, eating somewhere off property and then going grocery shopping. Great way to spend a day!

I've used Garden Grocer many times and have always been pleased. Never hsd a problem. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but I love the convenience of selecting items from the "list" online and you can always add things in "special instructions" (though I haven't done that). I have never spent enough to waive the delivery fee but even still it is a big cost saver if all I ordered was water and Coke. I like, too, that there is a decent selection of alcohol. I like that I don't have to come up with a list with brands and sizes and just have my options there in front of me. But most of all I love, love that after I get off the plane I am done with the regular world for the duration of my trip!

We've used WeGoShop several times and have always been VERY pleased. Great prices, great service, and friendly delivery.

We always use Garden Grocer and have been very happy with them. There was a point when they weren't delivering alcohol but it looks like they are again.

Bell services always takes good care of our food - just make sure to double check when bell services delivers (once they forgot a bag in the freezer area).

We've used WeGoShop very successfully - nice people and they actually hand you the receipt so you can see what you are paying. Does Garden Grocer do the same? Most of what we order is beverages - mainly beer. I understand Garden Grocer had a problem with delivering beer which is why we used WeGoShop. Is this really true?

The cool thing about garden grocer is you specifically pick the items (ie a certain size of Cheezits for a certain price), so you know exactly what the cost is. It's like buying from amazon = you search, you pick it/check a box, and know exactly what you're getting. I prefer their system to WeGo for this exact reason.

Regarding alcohol, yes, for awhile they had stopped delivering alcohol but beer, wine, pre mixed items are all back on their website. Previously, we would call and specify what we wanted, fax a driver's license to them, and would be good to go. We stock our owner's locker with 1.75 Liters of vodka and rum courtesy of Garden Grocer! :thumbsup2

just got back yesterday and used wego and Amy is awesome, actually looked at list and pointed out a few things we missed. it was great.

So bell services can sign and you don't actually have to be there? (Never done this, but we were going to for our trip next year.)
