I will be trying Garden Grocer for our vacation in March. I've already registered and selected all I want to buy for now. I have seen where others say that you need to get your date set with them because they fill up quick.

I cant see where to "reserve" my date, only to place and pay for the order. Its a $300 order and I am not ready to pay lol.

What is it that I need to do exactly?

THANKS!

Hi! We're using Garden Grocer in a few weeks. If I remember correctly, you select your date and delivery time when you place your order, which is also when they will charge for the order. I think that might have an option to pay by phone on the day of delivery, but I'm not sure.

another thing to be aware of - i just paid/scheduled my GG order for october 25. a few hours later they called me to confirm...which i found odd, last time i ordered they only called twice. once to let me know the items were dropped off at pop century, and again later that day to make sure we got everything and it was ok.

So when is it too early to place your order? I plan to use their services (never used a grocery delivery service before), and didn't realize dates fill up...we are going in December.
TIA for any info.

i'd suggest october. no later than mid-november if you can.

I just placed my order Saturday, just about a month out. They were able to fill anytime after today.

But I would go with a month or so out. If it's peek vacation season and they can fill within days, off season probably is the same.

I just placed my order yesterday for our trip next month. Normally I would wait until 2 weeks before but I felt I needed to do something Disney yesterday.:)

They did call me about an hour after to confirm and obtain payment info for the alcohol portion of my order.

I don't know how early is too early to place your order. I say do it whenever you want and as long as they accept it, it must not be too early.

Are you able to order alcohol from there? I didn't see it on the site.

You just need to put in the comments that you would like to order beer/wine, and they will call you to work out the details. Apparently they just stop at the liquor store and pick up what you are looking for. You will also need to fax them a copy of your drivers license for age verification.

I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds like everyone who has done so was very satisfied.

is it cheaper than just going to Wal mart or other stores and getting things your self??.... never used GG before sound easy but expensive...????:confused3

It's not cheaper than going to Walmart if you already have a car. It's probably cheaper than taking a taxi or renting a car just to get groceries though.

The prices on the website seem higher than I am used to, but other people have said they don't seem a lot higher than the local grocery stores.

The delivery charge is $12.

thank you!!.... we will be driving so i will have most things with us already.... and the cold thing we will go get.... thank you!! for the info.... i would like to look at their web site to see what they have for our next trip!!...... but we leave in 49 days!!!! :cheer2::laundy:

We went last Dec and sent in the order about 4 weeks out. The service was great. I suggest either delivery for as soon as you check in on your first day or first thing in the morning the next day. They left the groceries with bell services and then bell services brought the items to us. Not sure if this is how it is normally done since this was our first time but it did result in double tipping as we tipped our delivery person before they arrived and then tipped bell services. Either way we will us GG again in March 2011.

If you already have a car it is just easier and cheaper to head to Walmart or Publix.

Was wondering if it would be cheaper and easier to shop on my own at Wal-Mart and pack it in a box and ship it to my resort rather then doing the Garden Grocer thing. We are staying at Pop at the end of October.
