Garden Grille Experiences?

LOVE garden grill! We went to dinner in May 2014 and it wasn't turning. :( Still was good.

went in January 2016 at 11:30 am and LOVED it. The characters came buy 5-6 times! They basically babysat the kids while we ate. The kids pointed out what they were looking at. It was the most relaxing meal ever.

Can you sit at a booth with a high chair? I've always been seated in a booth when we didn't have a high chair, and always upper level with a high chair. We'll definitely request a booth on our next visit if we can have a high chair at one!

We have eaten their numerous times and I have never seen a high chair at the booths. I just don't think there is enough room for the characters and servers to easily move around a high chair in the main aisle. (I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.) We have always been in a booth. (Both kids first ate their at about 19 or 20 months old so no high chair needed.) We loved this character experience. It feels very private and the character interaction was awesome.

We went mostly to get into position for the Baymax line pre-park opening and we were delighted that we had! It was a wonderful character interaction. Note: apparently the chipmunks are a bad influence on Mickey. I've never seen him throw crayons before! :)

Garden Grille is our favourite character meal. We've done dinner there the last 4 trips and trying breakfast there on our upcoming trip. The character interaction is always fantastic and because the restaurant is so small, you generally see them each more than once. Once year it was a bad weather day and the restaurant was half empty and we were up to 4 visits from each character in the hour we were there. The food is quite tasty, very fresh and I love that is is served family style. I prefer that to buffets because it's far more relaxing and also makes it less chaotic and noisy.

We do Garden Grill for dinner on our arrival day every trip! It is our favorite character dining and the only character dinner that we really love. The food is so delicious and the character interactions are the best we've experienced in WDW. The characters come around 2-3 times every time we've been there. We love the atmosphere, sitting in a booth watching the scenes from LWTL. We are so excited to go again in September, this time having my niece experience it also.

We've always loved supper but had breakfast in March and it was great. Terrific food - served family style to the table which is a nice change from regular buffets. The only negative for me is that they always serve such huge platters I feel bad when we can't eat it all and it will be wasted. We were the first family seated and all of the characters visited the table together. It was a sweet surprise and we got lot of great pictures with the whole family and all four characters together.

We will be there for the first time in Sept, too. It is the only character meal we haven't done yet. It was always princesses, princesses, princesses but now that my girls are older and I have little boys we are excited to try this one!

Not OP but hoping to know which you preferred. Breakfast or supper? I'm trying to decide which to do. Thanks! :)

No they won't put a high chair at a booth there. If you ask for one they will seat you on the upper level. Everyone on the upper level when we were there had high chairs.

Newbie here. I have never been to GG either. I am looking to book for our Feb trip probably for Dinner or Lunch. What are the advantages to sitting in the booths over the upper level?

The booths are a semi-circle and you really can't see anyone at other tables. When the characters come to your table it's more private. On the upper level you can see other diners. Either way it's definitely not as loud and chaotic as other character meals.

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Living-with-the-Land Harvest-inspired Farmer’s Salad
. . . entrée:.. Turkey Breast with Lemon Caper Sauce
. . . dessert:. Skillet Cake with Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream
.
NOTE1: The eatery revolves within The Land pavilion and portions of spin include farm
scenes from the boat ride. The food is plentiful, but quality merely average. You pay for
the characters and not the food or food quality. Food is served family style and there is
always more, as it is All You Care To Enjoy. Characters include Mickey, Pluto, Chip-n-Dale.
As the eatery is one of the smaller character locales, the character interaction is GREAT.
.
NOTE2: The lower deck tables have one-side seats which can make talking among the
table diners tough, especially if you have six-to-eight people, which takes about 12-feet
in linear distance. This means that you cannot easily stand to interact with characters.
The upper has standard tables that seat people facing each other and you can stand and
interact. I recommend upper tier for characters; lower for viewing the river-ride scenery.
There is little chance of motion sickness, as the eatery moves so slowly. If you do have
a concern, the upper level happens rarely..
.
NOTE3: I would definitely do the dinner, and the lunch, when the lunch is offered. These
are not bad options for Future World dining. But, the new breakfast seems so much like
a rip-off due to its HIGH, HIGH price.[/

We used to be a big fan of Garden Grille until our last trip this past January. We arrived our normal 15 minutes before ADR time, checked in and it went downhill from there. We were a party of six which totally threw them and according to them, they have few tables that fit that many. We were seated an hour past our reservation time after we watched tons of walk-ups go in and sit down. I finally had to hunt down a manager to get seated. The food quality used to be amazing, but we honestly felt it was lacking this trip. We enjoyed the character interactions but we all agree we won't be doing GG again.

It is really the quietest and most laid back character meal I have done. If you are in a booth the characters can't really sneak up on you, but overall they are much more mellow. I was in booth with just my mum on the last visit and a few characters sat down with me, which made for cute pictures as we looked like buddies hanging out. The food there (it was lunch or dinner) was just average to us, very basic, but being its not a true buffet you don't have to get up either which is really nice.

I love the fact it's not a buffet. Buffets are so crazy busy and just in general make for a louder, more chaotic experience. This will be just the right atmosphere for us, especially as it was the only character breakfast I could book. I think my 2 y/o niece is going to have her mind blown with all the interaction, lol.

Hope you have gotten your ressies! I've been trying for dinner there over our 8 days and can't find dinner or lunch openings.

If we have an 8:40am ADR. What time would they let us in? Also, what time should we arrive to the gates?

We are a large party- we've eaten here twice the last few years for dinner. Enjoyed it both times

My family has eaten there numerous times over the years, and it is one of our very favorites. I'm not sure what it is about the place, maybe that it's relaxing or maybe it's the fresh and delicious food, but we always end up laughing and having a wonderful time. We love eating the food that we've seen on Living with the Land, and the character interaction is the best I've experienced. We've had quite a few visits where the characters played with the kids, and once even with Grandpa. I don't know if there's something strange about my family, but we've recommended this to friends before and had them NOT like it at all. But just speaking for myself and my family, LOVE LOVE LOVE Garden Grill!
