As with a few other restaurants in the 'World, we stumbled upon it because we hadn't made ressies and they happened to have an opening.

Love at first bite! We had just done the Behind the Seeds tour and then having food that had been grown onsite just made it even much more special for my kids.

Plus, as everyone else has said, magnificent character interaction and excellent service.

Sunshine Seasons Quick Service downstairs within The Land is a good
alternative if characters are not important.

Wow you must have gone on a bad day. I disagree with paying for characters and not food. That may be true at other character rest. but not this one. We will def. go again. it was delicious.

After reading all the great reviews in this thread and seeing the pictures of the food, I am even more excited about our Thanksgiving Day reservation. I can hardly wait.

I have been contemplating canceling our ADR due to bad reviews on DIS, but this makes me thankful I have not done it yet! I think I will keep it based on the positive reviews here. Thanks, everyone!

We loved it. The food was really good and Chip and Dale are great characters for a meal!

See it's so interesting how different everyone's tastes are.. I absolutely loved the "mousse." I am not a huge sweets fan, but I really loved these desserts. Actually, my whole family enjoyed the desserts. And honestly while on vacation with all the walking, I take a break from calorie counting and just enjoy the food. I'd happily eat that over ice cream any day.

I am definitely a sweets person but DH can take it or leave it on desserts. Both of us didn't even bother with it. But everything else was just wonderful. I think I almost needed to be rolled out of the booth...

Then again I'm not a big fan of School Bread that everyone raves about. So definitely everyone has different tastes.

Overall comparing GG with Chef Mickey, I'd pick GG over Chef Mickey anyday.
Heck, I'd go there even without the characters... numm....

I am so glad that you started this thread. We had reservations here years ago but cancelled it because we did not want a TS meal at the time. Last year we talked about it when going by but had already eaten at CM. This year we booked GG and now I am even more sure of our choice. I will have to make sure that we take that tour first. I am not sure if we ever have done that. We usually just do Soarin and then leave the building.

I didn't pay too much attention to the menu itself, but thought I read somewhere on here that you could request hot dogs or chicken nuggets for the kids....someone correct me if I am wrong.....

Has anyone seen the alternative kid's meal?

I really like GG. I think the characters are better here than any place else. Less chaotic and spend more time with you. The food is also very good!

So glad I managed to snag an ADR for here on accident when I was checking for an 'Ohana a few weeks ago...I just thought it would be a cool experience for the kids to eat in a rotating restaurant, but if the food is good too then that's an added bonus.
