We had a Character Dinner at the Garden Grill during the last week of our holiday and were very disspointed, the service was incredibly slow - we were seated for a good 20 minutes before we even saw our waitress, very dissapointed with the menu - or lack of it - the food was just bought to the table only one choice, the 2 children had 3 chick strips, 18 chips (french fries - and yes I counted) and a spoonful of mac cheese between them - I did ask for more when they had finished but it took so long to arrive that they didn't want it when it did. All in all the meal took so long that even though we had made ps for 4.45 pm and were seated straight away - we missed the parade which was the whole reason we had stayed longer at Epcot for - I don't think that we will bother eating there again - this was after a very disappointing attempt to eat there for my father's 65 birthday in Oct 1999 (our last visit) and despite a ps being made we were still waiting to be seated an hour and a half later and three of the five children had fallen asleep - when we complained the CM was really rude and off hand and told us that we would just have to wait as a wedding party had taken over the whole restaurant - well if they knew that why take our ps (made 10 days earlier) in the first place - I must say that when we complained to Guest relations they couldnot have been more helpful or nicer and they booked us a ps at Crystal Palace for a couple of days later with 60% of the total cost for 10 or us.

What a shame! We had wonderful, fast and efficient service, and the food was great, and plentiful!

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences there. We've been twice and both times had fantastic food, service and character interaction. It's a favorite of ours, so we're headed back again. We like to do a late lunch.

I've always had wonderful experiences there too. You just have terrible luck there! We go there every time we vacation at WDW.

hmmmm... we had a very positive experience there on a very croweded rainy day in Feb. Everyone and their brother was trying to get table there (in out of the rain for an hour I guess). We had a PS and were seated right away. No problem with our food or server. Characters were fun. Now was it our favorite place? No. And we would probably try others next time but we enjoyed it.

We ate lunch there in early Aug., had "Luis" for a server, and were there for one hour and 43 minutes (can you tell I was a little irate?). Like the original poster said, we saw him so rarely, that we couldn't get seconds on food or drink in a timely fashion. The characters even got tired of seeing us, just waved and kept on walking after a while! I did speak politely to the manager about this, wrote up a card, and was given four free fast passes for test track. Just too much time, and what can you do once you're there? (Our only disappointment with a character meal, I must say.)

That is amazing!! Our family goes there every trip!! We have never had a problem!! Although we ask for out favorite server every time!! "Jose" is wonderful!! Very good with our son and jokes around with us and him!! Never have a problem with serivce. Even if he is not there we always get wonderful service!! Although I am sure there are times that the service is slow!!

We love it! We were just there in May and everyone was so nice. I didn't think Chip and Dale would leave us alone long enough for us to eat! LOL! The meal is not a choice. It is family style all you can eat. They bring out the already planned menu and you eat. They will bring out more when you ask. We ended up liking the fish so we asked for more of that and it was brought right out. I'm sorry you had such a bad time. Sounds like they were really busy or having a bad day.:( I liked the breakfast even better and wish they would bring that back too.
