I don't know how I missed that Garden Grill serves family style. I really prefer this to Buffets. I can eat at buffets but I really have a hard time. I just don't like the thought of other people touching my food. Well, other than the people who prepared it. I'm slightly germ-a-phobic.

Anyway, what do you guys think of Garden Grill? The menu looks good. Anyone eaten there recently? I tried to do a search but nothing came up.

Thanks for your reviews!!

We've been there twice in the last three months and enjoyed it both times. The food is good and nice setting too. We had a child with us also and the kids food was good.

Love it!! We've really enjoyed GG on two different trips. The setting is quieter than average for Disney, the character interaction is IMO the best in the World, and the food is quite good.

Never been there. Have an ADR for our trip in March. Really excited about going cause on our last trip we never got to see Chip and Dale. Really miss them at CM. Those two are so much fun, so that is the main reason I booked GG. Its a extra plus if the food is as good as I've been hearing.

I am 100% with you on the buffet thing. Family style is much better...we have eaten at Garden Grill before and it was our favorite meal of the trip.

First of all, the restaurant was so quiet and calm--a nice respite from the park. The character interaction was great and the kids got a lot of time with them.

As for the food...I am an admitted food snob, and we really liked it. It was fresh, hot, and tasted great. I didn't eat the catfish, but my dad did, and he loved it. It was a very good meal--much better than we expected.

In fact, we are going again next Thursday--I'll be sure to post a review again!

We were there in November and LOVED it!, the food was good, the characters were great, and spent lots of time with the kids!
We would definitely go back!

Love it! you get so much food and it is so good. we'll be there in a few weeks!! :goodvibes

DH and I had a great time there. The food wasn't bad. The dessert was yummy and the character interaction was the best. The only problem I had was that it was noisy. Other than that it was great.

The Garden Grill is great! We've been there twice and will be back in 2 weeks. It's a pretty calm and quiet. And the food is pretty good. Hope you enjoy it!

Another positive experience at Garden Grill. I loved the food and the times that we've been there, the interaction was great.

Mixed here... I loved the food and the character interaction, but my sis did not like it, she loved the food but not the setting, we were upstairs (or second level) and did not see anything... she would not go back but I would and try to sit at the bottom part and again the food was really good.

I love GG - and very few people really ever go there - we know we can always get last minute ADRs there and it is always so calm and we LOVE the food!!

Last trip it didn't fit into our plan and we all missed it - we can't wait to go back this trip!!!

We (2 adults) were there in December & enjoyed it. The food was good--couldn't get enough of the potato casserole--& the character interaction was great. We were also upstairs, and would request the lower seating area on a return visit. Much better view & comfort level.

It was the most horrible meal we have ever had (at WDW and elsewhere) and we would not dream of ever going back! The upside to the food? If you find it to be not to your liking... they will bring you chicken strips, french fries, and mac & cheese! We observed a nearby table do this, and ask our server how they got that (instead of what we were served). She explained that anyone can order that instead, so we did. Both their table, and ours, let the "fancier" food go to waste and ate the "old stand-by" foods! It was rather pricey for those foods but at least we left satisfied. The decor is neat, it revolves... just sit on the lower level, not the top, as it is a challenge to see anything on the upper level. Not everyone's tastes are the same, perhaps you should try it and may like it! :goodvibes I think the decor is a plus!

We had lunch there on our Dec trip and really enjoyed it.

We were seated on the lower level, which did provide a good view of the Land boat ride area. Trouble is, there's really not much to see. The kids loved looking at the "thunderstorm" and other scenes, but it moves so slowly that after a couple minutes the view really loses it's luster. That's fine, we didn't go for the scenery, it's just funny how DISers always say get on the lower level for the view - well, there's just not much of a view!!!

The character interaction was very good. As others have said, you get more one-on-one time with the characters than at other meals. It is also MUCH quiter and was a nice change of pace. Don't get me wrong, we really enjoyed all of the chaos at 1900PF, but GG was much more relaxed.

This was the first family style restaurant I'd eaten at in years and had forgotten how nice this option is. In my opinion, it is the perfect match of table service and buffet - lots of options and all-you-can-scarf-down added to a waitress bringing it to you.

The food was wonderful, hot and fresh. I enjoyed all of it, and the picky eaters in my group had plenty they liked too. The catfish was just the best, as was the afore-mentioned potato casserole. The vegetables were fresh and I grossed out my kids by eating all of the butternut squash!! :rotfl:

This, along with 1900PF with Cinderella, was the dinning highlight of the trip.

Is the Garden Grill the one in The Land that rotates? If so, we ate lunch there many years ago before the Dining Plan so most of the restaurants were fairly empty.

I don't actually remember much about the food because we were the only ones there so Chip, Dale and Mickey sat down next to us the entire time. My daughter was around 4 so she was in heaven. I think she received a make your own dessert thing which she loved.

What I do remember is the rotation made me a little sick. Has this happened to anyone else?

Garden Grill is one of the hidden gems at WDW, in my opinion. I think the food is great, and the character interaction some of the most relaxed of any character meal.

gobo2- I've never had a problem with the motion before, but have always been seated in the bottom section. This time we were up top & I found that it did bother me. Where I was sitting I could see where the floor met the middle section & definitely could see the movement. Once I made myself not look in that direction (and got distracted by the good food & fun characters) I was able to ignore it and enjoy myself! I will certainly be back--and ask to be seated in the lower section.
