We are thinking about going to Garden Grill before Illumination in Epcot. Is this a good character meal for our 3 and 5 year old boys?

Yes - wonderful interaction with Farmer Mickey and Chip and Dale. Food is VERY good as well, with plenty for adults. Kids get their own skillet full of mac and cheese, chicken fingers, fries. It's fun to watch the scenery change as the restaurant rotates (slowly!).

This is one of my FAVORITE character meals. I think it would be wonderful for your little ones. The characters are Chip and Dale, Pluto and Mickey. The characters come round to your table, and I have always found the interactions to be very good.
We always found the food to be very good, it is served family-style and is all-you-care-to-eat. It includes steak, turkey, catfish, potatoes, stuffing, veggies, bread and dessert; and there are special offerings for the little ones (but they can eat from the family platter too, or at least they could when I was there last).
My kids always loved the "rotating restaurant", and enjoyed passing through the themed parts of the Land attraction below.

We loved it. The vegetarian pasta dish is excellent, too. (You have to ask for it; they don't bring it out automatically.)

Here is DD7 with Farmer Mickey:

Just one TS credit per person for this meal.

MY children loooved this last year! so did DH and I. THe food is alright, but the Character Interaction is SOOO WORTH IT!

Thanks for clearing that up...I am new at this and I get confused on what is one TS credit and what is two.

Go over to allearsnet.com http://allearsnet.com/pl/packages07a.htm scroll all the way down to the colored chart. It tells you what restaurants are on the Dining Plan and whether they are TS or CS credits. Also tells you where you can use your snack credits (and there is a great sticky on the Dining Plan board telling you what items are confirmed "snack" items allowed). The furthest column to the right lists "Signature" dining experiences, ONLY those require the use of 2 TS credits. :)
HTH!

I'm not big on "buffet or family style", but I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. We went for a late lunch and it ended up satisfying us so much, that we skipped dinner and just had a light snack.

Enjoy!

My DD10 is very picky. Would they bring out a kids skillet for her even though she is over 9? Also do they have any other desserts besides Vanilla Bread Pudding. I was just looking at the menu and saw no good desserts!

This is one that I am really looking forward to try.
