Garden Grill vs F&G booths

Cost aside which would you prefer doing a dinner at Garden Grill or sampling food from the outdoor kitchens during F&G?

I'd go with the outdoor kitchens. Good variety and you can go to Garden Grill anytime.

Many of the foods from the F&W were just too spicy or too rich for dh and I. It depends on what you like. DH likes basic food and it was hard to find that for him. Beer was another story.

We have been going to F&G for a number of years now and never make any ADRs in advance. We eat mostly by grazing at the booths, we did make two ADRs on the fly last year while walking around only because we were there for 7 days and had pretty much sampled most of what we wanted from the booths. I would say just graze the booths.

Small plates at the booths!! GG is for the characters not the food IMO.

Good point. The booths are better for more exotic options.

I did like the booths, but somehow I enjoy reading about them more than actually eating there. Last March, my DH had a couple of samplings from the booths (including the best fish of the trip, better than the signatures!). I had planned on trying something, but after walking half of WS, just couldn't find something appealing. (Didn't help that we gorged ourselves with DXDDP at LC that day).

I was back for Food & Wine, this time OOP. None of the 4-5 options we sampled were particularly memorable. We finally gave up since it was so $$ for very little food and split a yummy QS lunch in Mexico instead for wayyy less $.

I'd say it depends on your plans for the whole trip. If you have plenty of snack credits, F&G booths will be fun (might be harder to find stuff for your kids though). If you are paying OOP, I found the samples small and very $$.

If you like different options, booths are the best and offer great diversity and flexibility. If you just want to sit down and discuss all of the topiaries, GG would be better.

Booths for sure! We did F&G a couple of years ago with the kids and we loved it. We are going back this year, without kids, and have two Epcot days planned with no ADRs! Just going to graze! LOL!

For my family, food booths hands down. There are so many options that even picky eaters in my party (which always includes extended family of all ages) finds things they enjoy. And, honestly, I was really unimpressed with the food at GG when we went last December, and while I might try eating there again, there's no way I'd pick it over the F&G booths.

Go with the outdoor kitchens. There's some really tasty stuff there and a wide variety.

Does anyone know when the outdoor kitchen menus start appearing? Would it be sometime this month or in February?

The booths. GG will be there no matter when you go. F&W is temporary and changes from year to year. Even less adventurous eaters will find a lot of options at the booths. Just avoid weekends if you can.

I like the view from Garden Grill, but I prefer the food at the outdoor kitchens. On my next trip, I'm actually planning on a breakfast at GG and on another day, a meal at the outdoor kitchens.
