Scott Thomas, of PS Calculator fame, writes: When making a PS for any meal at the Land's Garden Grill restaurant, including the Ice Cream Social, tell the Cast Member making the PS to note you would like to be rehitched. When you check in at the Garden Grill make sure you mention it to both the CM at the podium and your server when getting seated. I don't want to spill the beans about the ceremony but it's a fun, quick way to add a little fun at WDW. Oh, and take a deep breath when kissing your bride/groom!"


We're going to do it during the Ice Cream Social on Oct 3rd--but don't tell hubby We eloped six years ago and I'm thinking he owes me!

It is a lot of fun! I surprised DH with this on our 3rd anniversary in 2001. The waiter or waitress re-hitches you with a short, but loud ceremony. And like the above post described - you kiss - and then you are husband and wife - again!

The characters are in the restaurant and may or may not be at the table while you are re-hitched, but all the wait staff is there. You get a certificate the declares you re-hitched - it is really cute!!!! Plus, they gave us a wedding cake to celebrate - this was at lunch. I'm not sure if you get the cake at the ice cream social.

When you make your PS, have them add to the reservation a notation that you want the re-hitching ceremony. Some of the people at Disney Dining may not know about it, but ask them to note it anyway. I was prepared to remind the hostess at check-in, but I din't have to, as when we checked in at the podium, the hostess said, with a wink, "I see you are celebrating an anniversary."

There is no charge for the rehitching ceremony. It is great fun!

WE did this last August. It was cute. We had no characters or cake. Just the regular dessert. I had requested it at the time I make my ps's and then again mentioned it when I checked in. My dd thought it was hysterical and my dh was somewhat mortified!! Yep, a thoroughly enjoyable time!!

I can highly recommend this as great fun and a great photo opportunity.

When we went on our Disney honeymoon 7 years ago, our reservation was noted that it was our honeymoon. The characters had a wedding with us - Minnie was my flower girl! It was adorable and one of the waiters took pictures with my camera. Mickey had a shotgun that he held in my hubby's back for the pictures.

We're going for our 10th anniversary and I sure hope they still offer the re-hitching. What a fun thing!

We just did this last week at dinner , Our 10th wedding aniv.

Very cute, Mickey and Pluto were there, If your shy dont do it, they involve the entire restaurant.

Pluto and Mickey got to kiss the bride (me) and my DS took all the pictures, Cant wait to have them developed to see how they came out!!!


They gave us a wedding cake and a certificate, It is very quick and its free, just be sure to tell them when you are seated, it was actually printed on our table check, so I guess when I made the Ps the cm entered it into the ressie.

Fun thing to do , and oh yes, take a deep breath!!!!!!!!!

We were going to do this for our 19th anniversary. I had it noted on my PS and double checked when we arrived at the GG. Our waiter dropped off the cake after we finished dinner and the dessert that is included. That was it! On our way out, I asked the hostess if they even stopped giving out the certificate. She told me to wait a minute and then returned with one with someone elses name on it! Sheesh!

I was so disappointed.
