We have reservations at the Garden Grill in Epcot. I noticed it said "served Family style" does this mean we don't order off of a menu they just bring you a selection of different food? I've read pretty positive things about the restaurant, is that most people's opinion? Thank you.

Allow me to be the wet blanket on Garden Grille. We didn't like it at all. The family style thing was a disappointment to us. Didn't care for catfish, the chicken was greasy and loaded with dark meat, just not our favorite food. The best part about the place was the fact that the dining room rotated, but even that wasn't much of a thrill. There were characters there, which provided some photo opps though. It was very expensive, and our waiter was a real schlep. We won't be returning. But, as we say on the DIS boards, everyone has a different experience - you won't really know until you try. Good luck. :D

As with every other restaurants, you will find different opinions. We really like this restaurant. The food is OK- not top notch- but not much worse than any of the other character meals. The food is served family style and if you need more they will bring it. The character interaction here is wonderful- top notch! We saw each character at least 3 times! And they really played with my 2 yr DD- bounced her on their knee, got in the floor to hug her, played with her hair, etc. The character interaction was better here than any other place we've eaten- Crystal Palace, CRT, Donald's, H & V. Just my opinion, but I think you will like it and not be sorry!

I have to say this is my family's favorite restaurant. We go at least once every trip and we have never been disappointed. I agree with Tink2, the character interaction is great and the food is pretty good. We always go for a late lunch around 3 p.m. and the characters really spend alot of time with us. Mickey even sat and colored with my DDs for about 5 min. the last time we went. I am sure just like any other business that there may be not so good days there, but fortunately we have never come across one. As far as the food that is served, It is flank steak, grilled chicken, fish, fresh vegetables (most grown at Disney), and dessert. Go and enjoy. :) :)

Garden Grill is a favorite over here as well. The food is fresh because so much of it is grown/raised there at Epcot and there's a nice variety of items, too. We have also found the wait staff to be very accomodating in regard to requests. (For example, even though we're just two adults, DH has frequently asked for and received some of the kid dishes, such as fries and dirt 'n worms.)

Another vote for the Garden Grill here! My family tries to go everytime we are there. We think the food is great ~ starts out with a salad (grown at the Land) and bread, and then a big skillet of catfish, steak, chicken, veggies (also from the Land), potatoes and stuffing...all you can eat and dessert. The characters are great, all dressed in Farmer Gear. When we were there in August it was Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. I never had catfish before here and it is delicious. Try it and Have Fun :p

And the kids get their own "skillet" with chicken fingers, mac and cheese, etc. For dessert, the kids also get the "dirt and worms" - pudding with cookie crumbs and gummy worms!

This is one of our favorite places also. Our food was very good!

Thanks everyone for the great information, this site is so wonderful for helping to make very well informed decisions! Thanks again.
