In your experience, which would make for a better dining adventure? Garden Grill or World Showcase.

We will be eating at Chef Mickey's that morning, and i'm afraid the character interaction may be too much. Also, maybe we're eating too mcuh american food??

But I'm torn because Garden Grill looks like fun! Are you able to fully experience the rotation from anywhere in the restaurant??

Although you can a good veiw of the rotating dinning experiance from anywhere in the dinning area, and the characters make it fun, your best bet would be to broaden your pallet in one of the restaurants in the world showcase. In DW and my's past experiances, it seems that Garden Grill lacks consistency. It has been more misses than hits when it comes to food & service quality. More times than not our food comes out cold and slow and drink refills are to few and far between for the price. If you want experiance with good food you may want to try Mexico or Germany.

Hello!

I've booked the Garden Grill for one of our dinners but I've talked it over with DH and I'm going to try to change it to L' Origionale di Alfredo in Italy. I didn't choose any italian/pasta restaurants for our 9 day trip and it is one of my daugher's favorite meals. The view/rotation/characters sound fun at the Garden Grill but the menu didn't seem like it had enough options. Plus I already have a lot of the other character meals booked. None of us eat catfish and the turkey and flank steak were the only other choices.

Forget the Garden Grille, the food is below average and its the absolute worst place for character meals. You can't watch the characters until the'yre on top of you. WS has many superior places to eat such as San Angel Inn, Le Cellier, and Chefs de France.

I ate at the Garden Grille once and didn't care for it. The food was just mediocre and the atmosphere not so great. I'd pick coral reef and the aquarium over Garden Grille (and I do) every time.

Thanks for all the help! We'll already be eating in Coral Reef a couple days prior, and i'm going to try my luck at getting an ADR at L'Originale Alfredo di Roma!

No see I read all this before I went and almost cancelled Garden Grille but my family really liked it! The characters spent more time with the kids than any of the other character meals we did! The food was good, I tried catfish for the first time, and the service was great! Now the rotating thing was not impressive, we did lunch and we did not move all that much in the time it took us to eat, it wasnt like we got to see the whole thing but other than that we really enjoyed ourselves.

Although if you are doing Chef Mickey that day I might not bc some of the characters are similar.

CM Mickey, Minnie, Donald , Goofy , Pluto in chef attire
GG Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale in Farmer attire.

have fun!

Alfredo's will close on August 31. From the ticker in your signature I'm guessing you'll be going in September - it will be closed.

:goodvibes I do love eating at the garden grill but I love eating around the world showcase even more :goodvibes

There should be a replacement Italian restaurant by then if you really want pasta. I am not sure of the exact date, but I believe the Patina Group is going to replace Alfredos.

Let me know if you decide to try out the new italian restuarant. I've changed my Garden Grill plans to O'hana instead!

Ugh- we ate at GG last time and it was horrid. The character interaction was spectacular, I will give it that. However, if you are eating at Chef Mickey that am- it is basically the same characters. The food was cold, slow and basically tasteless. The restaurant was totally empty but our waiter couldn't have been less attentive. I was really disappointed since I wanted to really like it.

If it were me, I'd definitely pick a World Showcase meal (whether in Italy or elsewhere), especially if you're already doing a character meal at Chef Mickeys that morning.
