just wanted everyones opinion.....our kids are a little out of the Chip and Dale stage but we are trying to decide between the 2.....atmosphere and food....Thanks!

The atmosphere at both are great, but I was not at impressed with the food at Coral Reef. I did however love the food and everything about the Garden Grill.

Ditto! If I had to choose our worst ever meal on WDW property, I would have to say CR....the server was awful, food was blah and my kids got bored with the fish in about 10 minutes. Our experience at GG was fantastic. It was the highlight of our 11 day trip in September. (and a huge surprise to us!) Great food, excellent service. The way the booths are set up, it's one of the few places on property where you don't feel like you're sharing a meal with diners next to you! ;)

Coral Reef was our favorite meal last time.

And we were on the Free Dining Plan, so ate at places like Biergarten, Cinderellas Castle Dinner, Le Cellier, Sci-Fi, 50s Prime Time, Mama Melrose, etc...
We had the best steak ever. It was so tender and juicy! We liked it better than our Le Cellier Steak! And we are Canadian!

The atmosphere was so fun. A big fish tank, with a diver in it. The sea turtle was leaning up against the window for most of the window. We were not right by the windows, we were up on the next level.
The desserts were great too!

We love it there and can't wait to go back!

My family & I have eaten at both places and love Garden Grill. Both for food and atmosphere. :thumbsup2

We went to both 2 years ago and like them for differant reasons.

Coral Reef was a nice atmosphere and with the stadium seating my kids then 7 & 8 love the tank and watching the divers. Food was good no problems.

Garden grill wa nice since it had characters and the kids remembered the make your own cupcake. Food was ok no complaints but nothing memerable.

We are thinking about going to either for our next trip but want to try new places first.

We have eaten at Coral Reef twice and enjoyed it both times. The food and atmosphere is wonderful. Our second time dining there we actually saw Mickey SCUBA Diving in the big tank and waiving to the dinner patrons....it was awesome. We were told that that hardly ever happens, in fact our waitress said that she has never seen that before in the 10 years that she has worked at CR :goodvibes. Now, as for Garden Grill we are dining there for the first time in December and are very excited about it. We are doing 6 character meals this trip and GG is the one that I am most excited about doing. First off the food looks amazing and I love the fact that the restaurant rotates as you dine...plus C&D will be there and my DD8 is a huge fan of those little rascals.

Garden Grill!!!! We will be eating there again in April! Feels very relaxing as you pass the land ride, and the food we found has always been good! Our kids liked the "steak" meat. They didn't want the kid food so we all ate off the skillet and they brought out more of what we wanted. My boys are 9 and 11 if that helps.

I am a fan of the garden grill, but I have not had a meal there in two years.

The children alwawys seem to enjoy the atmosphere at either the Coral Reef or Garden Grill.

Make sure you have your reservations if you need them.

Chalk another vote up for Garden Grill! We've never had CR, but LOVE Garden Grill!!! I've read a lot of "iffy" things about CR and I know someone who went with her kids and didn't have a great experience. GG, on the other hand, has always been a winner with our family!

For us, no doubt, Coral :fish: Reef.
We have had nothing but wonderul meals here.
Garden Grill was icky for us. Didn't love the food at all. :sad2:

Garden Grill vote here! I love the rotating restaurant, and the characters are fun. DH and I did this on our last trip and had a blast! I'd eat there again in a heartbeat. The food was pretty yummy too-although I've heard the catfish isn't always there and that makes me sad.

I loved the food at Coral Reef, and the atmosphere was great. The kids wanted to go back this year.

The garden grill the food was ok...something came out and my husband and I looked at it and said....what is that???? So I tried it, it was fish???

The character interaction was great, and I loved the revolving floor. I think that Garden grille is a great kept secret for disney fans that like characters!
The food was just OK!

Another Garden Grill vote here as well.

We've ate at both as well. The fish tank is cool at the Coral Reef. But if you can't get a table close to the tank, well...

Garden Grill - you rotate the whole time; no you won't get sick. Characters are great and the boothes are really comfy. Not to mention the scenery is awesome. I'd give a vote for the food at Garden grill over Coral Reef as well.

Personally, I would choose the Coral Reef. I was really not impressed with the food at Garden Grill. The characters are great and does one really ever outgrow Chip & Dale (my favorite characters). But the steak at Coral Reef was better than my steak at LeCellier (and dh and dd both agreed) and I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. We were on the top tier but still had a clear view of the tank. We are visiting the Coral Reef again in 26 days.

We have eaten at both Coral Reef and Garden Grill. The food at CR was not very good ,but the fish tank made for a cool atmosphere.
The Garden Grill had "The Disney Food " It was good ,okay quality nothing mind blowing but something for everyone ,our waiter was great and funny too - Quite a bit of time with characters and for pictures and the overall experience was relaxing -
Hope this helps -

We just ate at the Garden Grill on Saturday night. The worst meal of our trip. The food was basically inedible. They changed the salad. The steak was tough. It was just bad. I would never go there again. Just my 2 cents. I do not like the Coral Reef that much either, but the lesser of the two evils definitely is CR.

We have not been to the GG, but of all the places I will never go back to @ WDW, is Coral Reef. The atmosphere is cool, but the food is at best mediocre, and its kind of dirty.
There are at least 6 or 8 better choices in Epcot alone IMHO.
Including:

Le Cellier
Chef DeFrance
Nine Dragons
Tutto Italia
AND THE HOT DOGS @ American Adventure!:rotfl:

Have fun!
