Garden Grill or Coral Reef

we've done both, but prefer coral reef

better food choices.

(and the aquarium is really cool!)

We have never ate at CR, but we did eat at GG and found it to be, hands down, the worst meal we have ever eaten (anywhere)!

I agree about GG!!!!

We loved our lunch at CR and DS 16 months loved watching the fish swim.

We returned late Friday night and ate at both GG and CR. I agree with the PP that the two restaurants cater to different crowds. I go to GG for the character interaction not the food. Be aware that they are in the process of changing their menu. The new roast chicken was yuck! Give me back the somewhat dry turkey. We had better chicken in the counter service at AK and DHS. I agree that the rotation of the restaurant is a gimmick. I think this is one of the most laid back character dinners on property - that is why I may return. Our service last week was not the best either.

We had lunch at the CR. The Mahi-Mahi was very good - but the portion a little small. The potatoes served with DD's steak were so-so at best. Be aware that the desserts either have alcohol or are fruit based. I thought the brandy flavor in my chocolate wave was too over powering. (I know I am going to get flamed for that comment). My friend ordered the Jack and Bailey's Mouse. I like that better. My 12 year old DD ended up with the sundae off the kids menu since she does not like most fruit or the taste of alcohol. We were seated third tier and still enjoyed the view of the aquarium. The service was average (not the best or the worst). We would eat here again but it is not on our must do. I personally prefer LeCellier.

Just got back today from our trip. We went to both GG and CR. The food at GG was awesome, really loved it. The character interaction was totally awesome too. CR the food was very tasty, but not much for your money. Spent a fortune and didn't get much for it. But yes the atmosphere was wonderful.

Thanks so much for the input. I really appreciate it. It sounds like everything else. . . everyone has a different idea of what is good & what is not. Thanks for the heads up on the deserts at CR. I think I am going to go ahead & do both since we have never been to either of them.

I hope you had a great trip. I am sure it was hard to have it come to an end. Well. . . that means it's time to book another! :thumbsup2

Again, thanks so much!

coral reef - like the aquarium atmosphere, the shrimp with pasta dish and the lobster bisque soup!

Thanks for all the info... I've been debating this same point... Coral Reef it is!

Do you think it will be too much to try to do CR for lunch our first day? We'll be flying in on a red eye flight, have breakfast at the resort, and plan to hit Epcot (Future World) in the morning- have lunch in Epcot, backto the room about 2-3, our bags should be there, have a nap or swim, etc. Or should we wait until dinner? Difference in menu for lunch vs. dinner?

Thanks for any suggestions!
