Garden Grill or Akershus?

I am thinking about switching our Garden Grill dinner to an Akershus lunch. Currently I have an ADR for Garden Grill at 4:35 on Monday, June 3. I want to eat here because when we went in Nov. 2011, I had a really bad sore throat and wasn't able to enjoy my food. However, my DD is very picky and hardly ate anything last time and so I'm not sure if it's worth it if she won't eat.

She just told me that she wants to have her picture taken with Belle in her yellow dress. I believe the only place to do that is at Akershus since Belle no longer meets at Town Square Theater in MK. We have eaten at Akershus twice, both times for breakfast. I thought we could try lunch for something different. I showed my DD the lunch menu and she saw a couple of things that she would eat.

It will be me, DD6, and grandma (my mom) and we will be at Disney June 1-8.

We are paying OOP and I have already purchased photopass+

Which meal would be better? Or should we do both of these meals and not eat at one of the other places?

Definitly think you should switch just so your DD can see Belle and the photos are included. Personally, I would still do GG dinner instead of CM breakfast.

Akershus for sure! With the Belle photos included, it's perfect for your daughter. Our family enjoys Akershus every trip... Even 3 year old DS loves to see Belle there.

I have decided to switch from Garden Grill to Akershus. We've eaten breakfast here, but neve dinner. I have a couple of questions.
What entree is recomended? I don't like mushrooms so the pasta is out.
Would a 12:30 or 3:00 ADR be better? My DD will be dressed up like Belle. I will do her hair before going to the park. We are planning to do WS, so won't be at the park until 11.
Does anybody know how long it will take us to walk from BWV to Akershus?

I just looked on allears and saw that the lunch menu has changed a little. I was planning to get the Cornish hen when we go in June, but it looks like it is no longer on the menu. I am not an adventurous eater. I like things plain and simple. Will they leave off the sauces? I'm just not sure what to order now. DD really wants to eat here to meet Belle in her yellow dress.

I'm betting that Chip and Dale are really sad that they're going to miss your daughter this go around. We LOVE that place!!!!

Switch, but I would suggest a late breakfast. We had ressie for 10:30 and got in around 10:50 for our breakfast. The food the basic eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, bacon at the table and on the buffet pasties, biscuits, fruit, yogurt etc. Very traditional We loved it!!!

I did cancel my GG ADR I had, but then we decided to go ahead and eat there too. We are going to eat at GG on our arrival day. We are staying at BWV and will visit EPCOT when we arrive since we can just walk over. So we'll be eating an early dinner on Saturday, June 1.

We have had breakfast here twice. None of us are big breakfast eaters and DD barely ate anything when we went. There's no times available for breakfast on the day we're going so I couldn't switch if I wanted to.

I'm sure I'll find something to eat if they'll make things plain. It'll be worth it just so DD can see Belle. The next time we go to Disney she'll probably not be into princesses anymore, so I want to enjoy the moment while I can.

Just a note that no character is guaranteed at any of the character meals. Sometimes the characters become unwell and will be replaced with another character.

For Akershus, Belle usually is the main greeter in the lobby and who you get your photo with. If she is unwell, Ariel will become your main greeter. Inside you will usually get Snow White, Ariel, Aurora/Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella (she has been very hit and miss lately). If any of the Princesses are unwell, you may get Jasmine, Mulan, Alice or Mary Poppins.

Belle meets in France throughout the day so you can go and visit her there in case she can't host Akershus that day This is in her blue dress, not the yellow ballgown.

She meets in MK at Enchanted Tales, although that's not a traditional meet and greet but you can get a photo with her after the show.
