We ate here for a late lunch on Friday before going to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We chose a 2:30 pm ADR so we would be somewhat full throughout the party and wouldn't need to stop for dinner. We were given a buzzer when we checked in, but were seated not even 5 minutes after checking in which was great. We got sat down and everything was going great. Pluto actually came by right as we sat down so we got to meet him right away. We also met Mickey shortly after getting our drinks and the starters. His farmer's outfit is super cute!
About halfway through our meal the power shut down and back up lights turned on. We thought it was because Living with the Land broke down, but their entire system shut down. Luckily, we had already been given the majority of our meal (starters and entrees). We did get some refills on food, but they had to be given right away because they weren't able to keep food hot. They handle the entire situation very well and we were really impressed. Dh ordered a Diet Coke and since they couldn't use the fountain, they brought him a bottle with a glass of ice to pour it in. We had yet to meet Chip or Dale so a Cast Member walked them over to us in the dark with a flashlight so that we could still meet them.
We were still able to get the berry dessert because that doesn't have to come out hot like the rest of the food. We then wondered how we were going to pay for the meal because their machines couldn't be working. They were very generous and gave us our entire lunch for free. They just handled the whole situation very well and left a good impression on us.
The food itself wasn't the best quality in our opinions. Our steak was very chewy, the macaroni was watery with little flavor, and the rolls were dried out. The mashed potatoes, green beans, and turkey were all very good. I'm not sure we would come back for lunch/dinner, but might try breakfast sometime. You definitely pay for the characters interactions and those were great! Mickey and Pluto were super funny and even sat in the booth with us. Chip and Dale would've been better, but it was dark so they couldn't see very well. That was more of a "take a picture and go" kind of thing and that was fine.
