Anyone have any info on the Garden Grill ice cream social. I know its $6.99pp but don't know if it's all-you-can-eat and if it's anything for a 9, 12 &15 yr old. They're not really into the characters as much as they'd be into the icecream. So if we'd be paying for the interaction with the Disney characters, then I guess it wouldn't be something for us. Please let me know details. Thank you in advance!!

Mary,

We went to the Ice Cream Social last summer and are going back again this trip. You do get quite a bit of character interaction, but the ice cream is really the main attraction for us. You get ice cream sundaes that are delicious and beautiful to look at. I remember lots of chocolate being involved! Hope that helps.

You know, in September, we went to this and we both loved it. Now if two adults can enjoy an ice cream sundae with some playful interaction with Chip & Dale, Mickey, and Pluto, your kids can too. Dale was a particular pleasure during out afternoon break there. The ice cream was really very good and there was certainly enough of it to make it worth being there. The event was one of the highlights of our vacation. I say go for it! Mickey

I have to agree with Mickeysaver. DBF and myself went last summer and will be back again in October. Ice Cream Sundaes are yummy and the character interaction was fab.

If you are going for just the ice cream, I would skip here and take the boat or walk to Beach Club and order ice cream at Beaches and cream. For about the same price you will get much more ice cream and no character interaction. Although I am in the minority on these boards, the ice cream social for us was a huge rip off (I had to get my kids more snacks after the ICS to holf them off until dinner and they were only 7 and 11). We were only given one scoop of vanilla ice cream in a regular sugar cone "glued" with chocolate to a chocolate chip cookie. The kids got waffle dishes with one scoop of vanilla ice cream and a few gummy worms.

Just called today and got the info I needed. They made it sound like the icecream was big. Adults get something different-ice cream with a wafer, cc cookie, chocolate etc. and the kids get a clown sundae. I think we'll keep our ressies and check it out.

We have eaten as the Garden Grill for dinner before so thought we would try the ice cream social. I guess it depends on the day because the interaction with the characters was virtually nil! We were only probably one family along with 5 other families there all seated around the entire circle and all spread out. We were finished our ice cream before we saw the first character! And that was only after the waitress went to get Mickey and drag him over. After that the other characters came within 20 minutes which was way too long as far as I was concerned and they were very rushed. I know the deal is cheap but we were not really in it for the ice cream, thankfully as it was not good, but to see the characters. I have been to many character meals and this is one I wouldn't waste my time on again. I give it a D-!

We did the Ice Cream Social during Easter week and we thought it was great. Chip and Dale were so funny, Mickey was very good, great photos. Ice Cream was good. Of course its pricey but it is DisneyWorld. We also love the view of the Land from the Garden Grill. It was a great break at 3:15 from a busy Epcot Day.

Anyone know if our 9yr old(who will probably be considered a child) can request the adult ice cream sundae? The price is the same for both so do you see this being a problem? Also, how much time do you spend here?
