We have been to WDW a bunch of times but never ate at the garden grill in epcot. was just wondering if anyone liked it. It doesn't seem like they have much on the menu but it looks pretty cool and I believe it moves while you eat and you get to look into living with the land.

We love it! The food is good, but the real reason we go is to see Chip 'n Dale! The last time we were there, they stopped at our table three times! DD LOVES them!

They only have a few things on the menu right? It does look good though, and it always smells good when we are in the Land

Stupid question maybe - if you were going to do this restaurant as part of the Candlelight Proc package - do the characters still comre at that time?

Love GG! It's a fixed, family style menu, and they will bring kid stuff if you have picky eaters. GREAT character interaction, Pluto is a hoot! The rotation is slow (as in it won't bother you) and adds to the appeal. We have never done the CP package, but I'm pretty sure the characters would still be there, I'm sure someone will confirm that soon. All around a fabulous choice!

It's actually a set menu. You start with a great salad that is similar to a chef's sald and then they bring a platter of with turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatos, steak, mahi mahi (I think) and rice pilaf. Oh! And the have wonderful rolls and honey butter. Mmmmmmm.

For kids, they have a chicken dinner.

And then if you want more of anything, you just ask.

I'm getting hungry just thinking of it now...

sounds pretty good. I have always wanted to try it.

The food was good and they did bring something out for my picky son. Also, chip and dale were great. :thumbsup2

Going there in December....can't wait, sounds like people really like it!

How is the steak? Well done/tough/tender??

I heard it's flank steak, which is the only kind I do not like.

We've never been there but we have ADR for october and we're looking forward to it. Several ppl suggested it as an option to me (and honestly I never even considered it lol). The responses here are helpful:)

Great news. We have an ADR there the first night we are in WDW this September. It looked fun to me!

We last went in March 2010. The food was OK (I was just coming off a bout of the 24-hour bug, so I didn't want to stuff myself), but the character interaction & ambiance were GREAT. I love the rotation (so cool to look down and see the Land boat ride) and the characters were possibly the best I've ever seen in six trips. They came around multiple times and had really great interactions with us. At one point my aunt was on the phone with her husband and Chip (or Dale) sat there and mocked her (he had one hand up to his ear like a phone and used the other to do the talk talk talk gesture)--it was very funny. Definitely some of my favorite memories from that trip.

I've always wanted to eat there, and maybe one day we will. But my family is one of picky eaters and I just don't see many of them being happy with what is offered on the menu.
I love the idea of it and rotating and getting to enjoy the different scenes down below.

One of the best character interactions ever.

Mickey tried to feed me string beans it was hilarious.

I think the food is also the best, my prior favorite was Liberty Tree Tavern with the characters.

We loved it, and I agree, it's the best character interaction! It's probably the only character meal where DD actually ate something. I prefer the family style service over the buffets, for sure.

Here's my review. It's from 2010, so I don't know how or if the entrees have changed much since then: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2403651

We're taking DD for her next trip this fall, and when I asked DH if we should do GG again, his answer was YES, PLEASE!

Our family loved it! :lovestruc DH loved the turkey and dressing and I loved the flank steak. It had a great flavor to it! Neither of us liked the Mahi Mahi, but then again DH hates seafood and I had never had Mahi Mahi before. I just thought it was a little tough. But both of us loved the salad and had to get seconds on that one.

As a PP mentioned, the rotation is very slow but we loved it. The kids were fascinated with it and one of my favorite pictures from that trip was of my DS and Chip (or Dale) both sitting on the floor watching the ride below through the glass wall. The character interaction was great and never felt rushed.
