Is this family style or buffet? anyone have a restraunt review?

Hi,

We did garden grill for supper on our last trip in Oct 08. It is still family style. We had a nice meal, and the characters were fun too.

it is family style and the meal was just okay- if you are going for the characters go as the character time for us was good but no one was thrilled (by any means) by the food- enjoy your trip

Garden Grill has great character interaction, and is a fun time. I love the catfish, and the kids like the chicken. You also get flank steak and something else - turkey I think? They did away with the cornbread stuffing and mashed potatoes and replaced with a cheesy potato casserole a couple of years ago. That did not please my husband at all, so we haven't been back, but our kids have grown out of the character thing anyway. I think it's a great choice, especially if your kids like Chip & Dale!

We had a good time with the characters at The Garden Grill. It is one of the best places to get pictures with Mickey. I was very surprised that my boys liked the catfish. The food was adequate. The character interaction was great.

We loved teh cheesey potatoes and catfish. Not to crazy about the other meats. We also tried a new dish (last March) becuase we were family of the day, and it was really good, they said it was soon to be added to the menu, but don't know if it was or not. I can't for the life of me remember what it was. DD got Mac and cheese, and did NOT like it. I tasted it and I thought it was pretty nasty too. But I'm not one to judge, as my favorite is Kraft from he box! :hippie:

We always enjoy Garden Grill---both for the food and the characters! It is on our list for every trip!

Just a warning about the catfish--it is cooked just like Chicken fried
steak--same taste--very thick peppery breading.
We were hoping it would be southern fried catfish (light cornmeal coating) and were very disappointed with it.
We were not impressed with any of the
other food that were offered.
We saw Chip and Dale at DHS and were
able to get there autographs--they may even appear at Character Spot
in Epcot.
This was our least favorite Character Meals there are
much better ones like: Tusker House, and Ohanas.
