Does anyone know if you book the dinner package for the candlelight processional at epcot if the Garden Grill has characters during that time. I have been to the Graden Grill before and it was a character dinner, but I did not know if they changed it during the CP dinner. I would love to make PS if they did have characters for my DD4.

Yes they do. We may book GG this year but just wanted to warn you that it is a very far walk between CP and GG so allow plenty of time.

I was thinking about the Garden Grill for CP, too. However, there seems to be quite a "mark up" on the CP packages over the usual buffet price.

Does anyone know if the CP package includes something the usual dinner buffet does not?

CP Tier 1 price is $28.99 /11.99incl gratuity
Regualr GG Dinner Menu price (upd 7/04 on All Ears Net) is 21.99/9.99

15% of 21.99 is $3.30
3.3 + 21.99 = $25.29

Looks to me like the "CP reserved seating" costs $3.70

Was that the case last year, too? It's even worse for Norway and Germany as their dinner buffets are less than the GG.

It's harder to figure out the value for the non-buffet restraurants as your cost depends on the items ordered.

Thoughts?

You added the gratuity but didn't add the sales tax to your amount. We have done CP approximately 5 times and I think they automatically added an 18% gratuity....I could be wrong. Either way, it is worth it to me just to be able to sit closer to the CP and be able to see better. Anyways, what's a few dollars in the whole scheme of things?!?!

We have done LeCellier in the past and will be trying the Garden Grill this year....we are looking forward to seeing the CP on Christmas Eve.

Enjoy!

Neither price I listed includes sales tax so the comparison is valid.

Didn't hear/know about the gratutity increasing to 18%. that would make it a little better.

We will get the package (have for past several years), but will probably choose something other than the buffet options.

Best wishes -

I think Garden Grill is the best value for the CP dinner package. It is more expensive than just eating there, but not unreasonably so. The dinner is exactly the same, including characters.

We ate there for the CP package in 2002, and it was very nice because we had a 4:30 PS and it wasn't open to regular dinner guests until 5:00. So there were just us CP people and it wasn't very full. Character interaction was great! But last year they did not let us eat there before the 6:45 show. So I don't know what will happen this year.
