Thinking about the Garden Grill Restaurant for lunch, any opinion of the food and setting would be great. :jester:

Atmosehere is nice you are revoling around slowly and can see part of the Land ride. Food we didn't like catfish, Pork Roast Slices, Catfish Sticks, BBQ Grilled Flank Steak. :p :bounce:

We ate there two years ago and I didn't think I would like the food, but we are going back in January because we loved it. Also, it tends to be uncrowded from all i've read and heard, so there are plenty of character visits.

The food is ok, but it is cool to be in the revolving restaurant. You get to see some of the overhead view of some scenes from Living with the Land. Have fun:)

This is a family favorite. We've had great character interaction and hot, fresh food. It's basic fare, but both times I've been there it was good. We have a PS for GG on this trip.

I ate at the Graden Grill last October. I loved it! We were a group of 5 adults, and the characters were very attentive to us. They all came around at least twice and were very interactive.

I liked the food a lot, too. It was served family stayle, and tasted very fresh. The catfish had a sweeter tasting breading. The menu has changed a bit - I think they now serve pork, but we had turkey at the time we were there. The sides are good too - love the stuffing and sweet potatos!

We were re-hitched at our lunch, so in addition to the regular dessert (which changes often - we had bread pudding), we were served an anniversary cake, too!

I like the GG and have eaten there a few times - the food isn't spectacular, but still good enough for me, hehehe, but revolving thru Living with the Land is really nice and the character interaction is good.

If you go, request a table on the lower tier...they are booths and so when the characters come round, it's almost as if you have them entirely to yourself because it feels more almost private!

This is one of our "must do" restaurants. The character interaction is the best! For example, during our last trip Pluto carried my 13 year old daughter (who had a broken leg) around the restaurant acting like they were going to get married. On another trip, Mickey sat listening to my son (age 7) for 20 minutes. The characters really take the time and make sure that your visit is enjoyable.

The waiters/waitresses are another plus. We have never had poor service. They readily refill drinks and bring out seconds, thirds....

The food is very tasty too. We don't like the catfish but the flank steak, potatoes, and salad are delicious. Also, on the last trip we had lemon merangue pie. I usually don't eat pies but this pie was exceptional.

Go and have fun.

We too thought the food was ok but not wonderful never the less we enjoyed our lunch there. The characters were lots of fun and the revolving resturant concept is neat. We had one of the best desserts all week there, it was a white chocolate bread pudding, funky but tasty. The kids got dirt cups. The whole Land pavillion was fun. It was pouring the day we were there so we were grateful to be inside. My kids loved the "Food Rocks" show.

We ate there a few years back. The food was alright. I may be a wimp, but I hated the revolving restaurant. It revolves really slow, but it still made me sick.

The food is okay at GG, but I agree this is the best character interaction place at WDW. GG is usually not crowded so the characters spend a lot of time with everyone. We thought the food was just okay especially for the price. I would never go there for dinner but possibly lunch again. However we have not been back mainly because of the food and we eat a light lunch saving room for dinners.

When we were there the cost of lunch and dinner was the same! There was no distinction. We heard they used to not serve salad at lunch and it cost less but now (or atleast last winter) it was all one price. I think it happened when they stopped serving a breakfast there.

The Salad and all of the veggies for GG is grown right there! DW and I make it a point to go there on each of our trips for several reasons:

1. I don't like vinagrette salad dressings and I love the salad there. I know it sounds funny, and I am not generally a salad kind of guy, but for some reason my mouth waters for their salad...especially when you are at the parks without much salad availabe.

2. The day after I proposed we had a late lunch there. DW showed her ring to Chip & Dale when they came to our table. Mickey was summoned who promptly officiated at our Practice Wedding. For some reason that is one of those dates that DW won't let me forget...

There are more, but these are the most important.

BTW, we love Food Rocks too

We went in July....great server, great characters, but I wasn't too impressed with the food. The flank steak was tough, chicken blah, and I'm not really a fish person. My dh and kids enjoyed the food though. We had lemon meringue pie for dessert (kids got dirt and worms...which I would have preferred as a chocoholic!).

We're having Thanksgiving dinner here this year...our 4th choice, but we had some rotten luck the morning we had to make our ps's. I'm beginning to feel a bit better about it after watching our video tape from July..the characters really were great and I think they'll do turkey well...or at least better than I'm used to at my family's thanksgiving gathering!
