We just got back Sunday after 11 days. We did the Garden Grill for the first time on Christmas Eve and saw Gary Sinese do the CP reading. Garden Grill was ok. They had cat fish and pork, neither of which we eat, so we got plenty of refills on steak and potatoes. DD is 17 and I am, well, never mind, so while the characters were cute, they were not sure what to do with us. I think this restaurant is better for younger kids. Food was ok. Dessert was good, but anything with apple pie and ice cream cannot be bad.

New Years, we ate at the 50's Prime Time Cafe was so much fun. We had a great table, got seated pretty quickly (compared to Hollywood and Vine last year for New Years, which was slow and not too clean). My daughter did not eat the green beans, or finish her chicken, so you can imagine!!! Sister Chris did not want to give her a Sunday for dessert. The food was really good. I had the spicy chicken with slaw and potatoes. I was so happy to NOT be eating chicken fingers, pizza or a hamburger! I will definetly eat here again.

We were just there as well between Christmas and New Year's, and we noticed the same thing with characters not knowing what to do with our kids (14 & 10) just because they weren't so young. It disappointed me a little bit. We were going to do the Garden Grill dinner package, but we ended up not doing it since we didn't want to do any more character meals, and none of the other tier 1 restaurants appealed to us. We were lucky and got into the Candelight Processional without the package and we only waited about 15 minutes, not expecting to get in at all.

I wish we had done the 50's Prime Time Cafe! It's so cool looking and definitely seems a whole lot better then what we had at the Hollywood & Vine on the 29th.

I noticed that two years ago.. The characters were AMAZING with my then 3 yr old. Engaging and sweet. But merely patted my VERY tall for her age (5'1") 9 yr old on the head. She wondered if Mickey didnt like her?

The food was wonderful. I am a SUCKER for a good green salad... and after all the chicken fingers, burgers and cokes. I was SOOOO happy with the fresh tasting food at Garden Grill.. We will likely go again in March. If you get an 730 seating you get out in plenty of time to wander to the WS for Illuminations!

I will definetly go back to the Prime Time Cafe. I do like to try out different restaurants when we go. SCI FI at MGM is good for lunch, but I have heard dinner is not too good. I don't think we will do character dinning again, altho I would love to head in the castle at the Kingdom.

We tried Prime Time for the first time in December and had a blast! Sci Fi is a favorite of ours, but you're right about it being better for lunch than for dinner.

You can do lunch or dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table and have all the fun of eating in the castle without characters. We had lunch there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. :D
