Garden Grill is not my favorite character meal, however, it is a nice option for us during our July trip with GD.

GD loves breakfast food all day, my DH is of the bacon & toast only persuasion & really not a fan of the food there but appreciates the character interactions there.

I’m seeing a 10:25 am breakfast ADR open my date.

Wondering:

Is that ‘too late’ to expect breakfast options to still be served, factoring in we’ve never been seated any earlier than 20 min for past ADRs (lunch & dinner) there &

Can GD order breakfast and DH & I opt for lunch?

Not trying to get over, just want to adjust the level of expectations if i keep the ADR

I doubt it. Since everything is served family style you will get breakfast servings. If it was a buffet, you could probably get both. But since you get everything family style, they won’t serve you both.

I really enjoyed the breakfast in November. That cinnamon bun thingy! All mine, so good

Plus the waffles w Nutella? I enjoyed it so much

But I digress

Plan on breakfast and the great characters there

Oh dear, not what I had hoped to hear. Need to rethink it. GD really only would want bacon & perhaps the cinnamon buns.

Perhaps they’d be willing to just bring her a side-size, plate of bacon.

10:25 is breakfast. Period. If you take it, the meal would be breakfast. She could eat only bacon, but she'll be charged the regular price.

If you want lunch, you need to get a lunch reservation.

Thank you for your input

No issue with paying whatever price is charged, including lunch if it’s more...didn’t think to look at the pricing difference

As stated above, it’s one of the few onsite venues where we’ve never been seated in a timely manner there in past. Not an issue normally, busy area, nice to sit on the benches and people watch for a bit.

Call me an indulgent grand mother, but I sure don’t want to promise GD bacon & not deliver that day. Thinking if we are seated 20 minutes past ADR time (approx 10:45 am) that may roll over to lunch fare only. No idea ‘when’ they actually stop serving (refilling) breakfast platters in this sort of situation as I haven’t been in this situation before @ WDW.:scratchin

Will say the servers there are very pleasant & always seemed happy enough in the past to delete items from the lunch/dinner platters that my party would never eat. I really detest the idea of seeing food wasted.

Thinking I’ll look for an early lunch ADR instead (as in shorty after 10:30 am). I’ll ask for a few pieces of bacon on a small plate when seated if any is left in the kitchen. Naturally, I’d over-tip for the accommodation. If it’s impossible, then no harm, no foul. Will let GD know ahead of time that’s the plan, if it happens it’ll be a bonus. If not, she can get her fix in the food court another day or two before we head to the parks.

If you have a breakfast reservation, you'll be getting breakfast food even if they seat you late. They don't start serving lunch until 11:30.

Ah, ok, that was very helpful. Didn’t realize the hour delay on lunch ADRs. Thank you! Onto a lunch reservation it is.

Yep, just wanted to say this is the right decision - we had an early lunch reservation once and showed up a bit early - we ended up waiting with a bunch of people for lunchtime service to begin. There's a separation there between breakfast and lunch that just isn't flexible.

One more voice confirming...we had a late breakfast seating last visit, and we lingered a bit...around 11:00 or 11:15 our server came by to mention that the kitchen would be switching to lunch soon, so if we wanted anything else to eat we should let her know ASAP so she could still get us breakfast food. Getting lunch food was not an option, it was more breakfast or nothing. (She was great, very patient with our group hanging out longer than expected, flagged a manager or character handler to make sure some characters came back around because my son had missed autographs, etc. We were a party of 6 so there was an automatic gratuity but we topped it up in appreciation for her help!)
