Hey I was wondering if anyone has ever eaten there?

If you have, how was the food?
And how can you make reservation? is it through the disney dining line? or do they have their own phone line? if they do have their own phone line, does anyone have it?

Thanks so much for the input.

I've always wondered about things at Shades of Green. I come from a military family, but somehow know nothing about this resort! It's a mystery... I'm curious as well.

Hi I have stayed at Shades of Green and eaten at the Garden Gallery it is a Buffett. The menu changes every night we have never needed to make a reservation. If you need one you would make it through Shades of Green. We have stayed many times and are going back 7/25-8/9 can't wait. If you have any more questions feel free to ask I would love to answer them for you if I can.

ooo, your getting close to that vacation. Thanks for the info. Do you know if you have to have a military personal with you to eat there? or is the dining open to everyone?

As far as the food goes, Garden Gallery (IMHO) is just okay. Breakfast is fine as it's hard to mess that up, but dinner left something to be desired.
Other than that though, SOG is a wonderful resort!

They ask for your SOG keycard, or military ID at the gate house. To gain access to any of the grounds at SOG I belived you have to be staying there or be ia member of one of the allowed catergories to be there. Atleast that was my experience when I asked at the gate house about eating there.

We went last summer and were not happy with the food at dinner. It was pretty gross if you ask me.

The food could be better at the Garden Gallery but for the price it's not that bad. You get what you pay for the Prime Rib though is better than most Disney Resturants. I have only gone to Shades of Green when staying there and I do have proper ID. monana I hope this helps you:goodvibes . How did you hear about Garden Gallery if you haven't stayed at SOG:confused3 ? Just wondering:confused: ?

To answer PP question. SOG is listed on many fan sites under resorts and restaurants. I know the menus are on allears.

I believe you have to be staying there or have military ID to access the hotel. Last I heard, you were not able to just visit.

Yes it's military only. No civilians allowed. I think it's nice that we military folk have something at Disney that's exclusive to us. We've never stayed there because we like the Disney resorts too much and since DH is a higher ranking officer it costs about the same for us to stay at SOG as it does a moderate resort. Give or take a few bucks.

Even though it works out the same as a moderate you should try it at least once :cool1: . The location is great  and the privacy is nice:thumbsup2
