Anyone ever have a garage sale to save up money for Disney?? well we did this weekend and we made 400 bucks...we are all so excited about it...

Yup. My best 'take' was $1400. It was a banner year.

Wow, that's amazing. The most i've ever made selling at a garage sale was like $80... and was with great things too. Congrats on the dough.

We're moving in a couple of weeks and had a garage sale last weekend and also made $400! I was shocked!

I made $640 a couple weeks ago! It was a community wide garage sale and people were running from house to house. I've never seen anything like it.

Plus I got rid of all the baby stuff collecting dust in the basement.
I couldn't believe the stuff people will buy. I just kept hauling it out and they kept buying it.

had our community garage sale past 2 days. Made just under $400 this year. This is my third year doing it: made $1500 the first year (got rid of all the baby stuff and stuff from DD's first 6 years, plus all the stuff that didn't fit the new house), last year made around $450. It gets so crazy here, cars park on both sides of street so it is one lane of traffic only and cars jockeying for who gets to go - and overflow parking out on main roads with people walking in. No mail delivery and the florists know not to even try to deliver Mother's Day flowers until after 3 or so. Most people who are not having sales just leave for the day so they don't have to deal.

The money we made is going toward our trip in the fall!!!!

WOW, $1400?! We made about $450 at our yard sale last fall, we were very pleased with that. We've already got enough for another go this fall. Our money didn't get saved for Disney though...we just didn't have to use the ATM for awhile.

Had one last year a few weeks before leaving. Made $300, enough for our hotel before leaving and coming back, plus a little extra! Plan on having another next year and doing the same. I have read lots of posts that talk about how well clothes sell but they don't seem popular here. Baby stuff and toys in good condition go first.
