garage sale question

I'm having a garage sale in a couple of weeks and when it comes to pricing clothes I'm not sure what to ask for certain things. I have tons of Nike shorts that my boys have out grown and I dont have a clue what a decent price is for these. What about other types of clothing like coats or a disney store princess dress or even jeans? Can you tell I just dont have a clue? Any help would be appreciated. One last question, how do you usually price things like Home Interior pictures or any other kind of home decoration? Thanks!

I have found most people who garage sale shop do not want to pay too much for clothes. I ususally price things like that at $1 a piece. My mother goes to $3. I sell almost everything, she sells
only a little. I would rather sell 10 items for $10 total then 2 or 3 items for only $6.

I know they are name brand and all, but think about what kind of
"deal" you would want at a garage sale if it was you buying it.

Like I said I price low and have made nearly double at each of the sales my mother and I do together.

Thanks for your quick reply! $1.00 is about what I was thinking. I hope to make some money but I really just need to get rid of things so I would like to keep my prices at the low end.

I have 8 days till we leave and I am getting ancy!!

Also, I love having garage sales! IT is a challange to see how much stuff you get rid of. ONe thing my kids and I do is watch the shoppers and if they pick up something and put it back we say hey I will let you have that for $$$ amount. usually 1/2 of what
the ticket says. We have sold lots this way!!

8 days! Lucky you, I am jealous! Its been a while since I have had a garage sale and I have to admit I am dreading it but I figure any little bit we make just gives us extra disney dollars. We are hoping for a early December trip this year.

I try and sell the name brand things on ebay for what I believe they are worth. the stuff that doesnt sell- I will try it at my garage sale. Now down here in fla. they wont buy things for more than a buck and I ended ups selling alot of things even cheeper- just to get rid of them. good luck with yours

I guess I won't go with a garage sale. I've never had one. I was hoping to make around $700. I've got a ton of stuff. I've never tried ebay, is that worth it?

I do put more than $1.00 on name brand clothes. I had dresses that I sold for $4.00 and $5.00 (everything was new looking not worn out). I sold almost everything I had. I had one small box of left overs for Goodwill. One lady (she came last year as well) spent $62.00 on clothes and shoes for her DD.
